Why is it overkill?

Damn i wish they would have tournaments like the WC and ipl way more often.

I feel lost again with no t20 :(.

I also enjoyed all the cricket:). But without DSTV, I have to settle with what the SABC can dish out.
 
WC is every two years if i am not mistaken, they are talking about 50 matches a year which is awesome :), pro 20 is going to be as big as soccer!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best thing is the fans can see 2 exciting matches a day, exciting stuff for fans.

West Indies to host World T20 Championship in 2010

The West Indies will host the World Twenty20 Championship in 2010, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Saturday.
The event will be held in place of the Champions Trophy that was to be hosted by West Indies in 2010, ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat said at a press conference. "With the Champions Trophy set to be hosted by Pakistan in 2009 after its cancellation this year, we decided to have a Twenty20 World Championship instead in April-May 2010 in West Indies," he said.
"Although World Twenty20 is to be held every second year, we decided to hold it on the trot to set the calendar right and ensure a better spread of tournaments." The event, slated to be held from April 23 to May 9, will be staged at three venues to be chosen by the ICC Board in January 2009 following nominations from the West Indies Cricket Board.
"With the ICC Champions Trophy being the final major ICC event of 2009, and the ICC Cricket World Cup being the 50 over event in 2011, it makes perfect sense to have a tournament of a different format in between," Lorgat said. "It means we will avoid staging the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Cricket World Cup close together, as happened in 2002-03 and 2006-07.
"We will aim to make both those events special to ensure we have a great blend of the ICC's three majors, with two ICC World Twenty20s (2009 in England and 2010 in the West Indies) as well as an the ICC Champions Trophy (in 2009) and an ICC Cricket World Cup (in 2011) over the next three years." India won the inaugural World Twenty20 Championship in South Africa in 2007.

I like the T20 WC, its more exciting, competitive and pacey compared to the 50ov one heck they could drop the 50ov one and have that based on points only like tests.

Nope, just this time, after that every 2 years.

But you'll get 2 IPL's a year from next year.
(In March and September apparently.)
Plus the champions League (Provincial teams around the world)
And a Southern Hemisphere T20
An English answer to IPL

Yea no i saw alf that is why i edited it out, checked only for the next one then from there every 2 years.

Yea they can drop the 50 over game i reckon, rather have pro 20 because in all honesty i do not think i could ever watch 50 over cricket and enjoy it now. T20 has killed 50 over cricket for me.

I agree with that, overs 20 to 40 in ODI's are usually not that exciting.

They could reduce it to 40 overs a side as well.
When you watch the game at the ground, 100 overs and an innings break takes a long time.
 
I honestly don't care whether its T20, 50 over or test cricket, I just love watching cricket. (but then I have a high IQ ;))

My dream is to watch 24 hours of cricket which is possible if there're tests in NZ, SA or End, and WI. :D

India are playing WI soon, should be an even contest there, as WI have home advantage and India are kuk away from home.

I can't predict that result.

Hahahaha, no your IQ is low chis because you watch T20 dude :D

I would suggest you watch the entire ashes series because you need to get that IQ going man :).

Shame alf i must say you get boring very fast, have you not noticed your insulting ways do not even touch sides? Yet you keep going as if i am going to freak out and get mad :D
