Sounds about right.

I'm not so sure. The total space, should indicate 16GB, with the available indicating about 10GB - that is if it is running a fresh installation of the stock ROM. So I tried installing CM 12.1, (which with the pico GApps included, extracted is probably no more than 500MB) - but this indicates the total and available space both as 10GB... Taking that into consideration, I should have 13GB - 14GB available on CM, yet is stays the same. If I install Cloudy 2.2, it indicates the available space as 8.5GB...

The question now is, how can I check the partitioning of the device? I think I might have two partitions (one not in use due to something failing during the soft-brick, and one that is functioning and currently in use, which was written when I managed to get the stock ROM going again).

So I just flashed the stock ROM (Android 5.0.2), and the storage shows the following:

Total space: 16GB
Available: 9.6GB
Apps: 0.98GB
Misc: 5.40GB

Anyone care to just confirm this values for me?
If I expand Misc, it indicates the System Data as 5.40GB (this is what I am most interested in).

Thanks guys.

My Misc is a lot higher because of apps data at around 8.44GB with the System Data at 5.76GB

Thank you for taking the time to respond cenredash.

After performing the LG app updates, as well as the pre-loaded app updates, it displays 8.68GB available, with the Misc at 5.82GB.

Do you perhaps us AirDroid? If so, what does AirDroid display at the top right?

My phone's GPS Sensor seems to be acting up as of late. It would take forever to get GPS lock and when it has it, sporadically lose and regain it. Other times it works without hassle. I have used an app where you can see the "strength" of the individual satellite signals and when it does this, the sensor picks up 10+ satellites but the signals are very weak. Several factory resets and AGPS cache wipes later and the issue still persists

I found a thread on XDA that seems to indicate that the GPS sensor's terminals lose connectivity with the antenna that is embedded in the non-removable back cover.

Arise!

Can anyone recommend a good close to stock barebones custom rom and kernel?

Also flashing instructions would be nice, but not required. Been years since I flashed a phone :/

Same here. Flashed the 16 Aug Snapshot of CM13 on my G2 and it is almost as if new life has been breathed into it. Jaw dropping battery life to boot as well!

Edit: Just got a notification that a Snapshot for 20 Aug is available; busy downloading.

Get CyanogenMod 13 for the G2. It is as close to bare-bone Marshmallow (6.0) as you can get without owning a Nexus.
