I'm not about to try.

It is a full metal body, but with the large 6" screen I really couldn't say. I haven't dropped it once, which might also say something about how the size works for you. I dropped my G2 several times.

I checked YouTube for drop tests. The Mate 7 shatters when dropped from 6'. Waist height drop test resulted in a few dents. YMMV.

Sigh, my G2 is not playing nice in the car. I purchased it to replace my dedicated Sat Nav Galaxy S3 in the car.
I am powering the G2 via a USB 5v/1A socket. Previous phones were all 100% with this (S2, then S3). The G2 however, discharges while using Waze. If I shut Waze down, then the phone charges.
The is charge getting to the phone as discharge is slow. It is showing that the discharge rate is higher than the charge rate though.

Anyone know where I can pickup a 5v/2A USB socket for the car?

Chinese shops? I've gotten two 2A chargers and they worked well

Downloading that one now. Also tired of waiting. In fact, we'll probably be upgraded to 5.0 when 5.1 has been out for a while.

No issues whatsoever. Running just as smooth as the day I installed it.
