thats why you signed Veron for 29m and tosic for 16m and he hasnt even played a game
At least we signed an english Intl ,and the first choice right back of england
Tosic wasn't 16m. It was a combined deal for two of the Partizan players, Tosic and Ljajic.

Tosic is 22 and Ljajic is 16 (loaned back to Partizan to get him trained up a little) so the bulk of that cash is for Tosic. Maybe (it would be a max IMHO) 2-3mil for Ljajic. If Tosic turns out to be good, it could be steal - if not then deffo overpayment.
EDIT: How much did Rafa pay for his young starlets? How did Babel cost and how much did N'Gog cost? Just to see what kind of money he is paying for approximately the same age group.

well Smokey ,rafa paid 11m for Babel who was/is a full Dutch intl and played him regularly in his first season ,however he has stagnated last seaon
.Ngog cost us 1.3m pounds which is a freakin bargain for a boy with his talent and ability with his size as well ,I expect alot from this boy ,he just needs to bulk up ala Drogba then he will be awesome and only still 19 
scores goals for fun in the french u/21 side and is highly rated in france

Hj when united broke the world record fo Rio as a defender,he wasnt even established as englands premier defender in his position ,Now we spend some money on the best english right back and you say its desperate

I wish you would just admit he is a bit crap - if we buy someone rubbish (like another Nani or Anderson) I will admit it.

Yes, let's bank on that now shall we. You forget that the new rules in the Champions League forces all teams to have at least 8 home grown players in the squad. We are making sure we meet that requirement.

IMO right now I would say Johnson (he's the only English right back I know) but watch out for Gosling, only 18 and he's in Everton's first squad already.

Interesting. He is not worth 17 million but I guess when players are being bought for 80 million in these crazy times, 17 million is not that much.
I agree with you though. I'm not happy about spending 17 million but what do you expect with English players, they are all overpriced. It brings back that old argument about why there is such a huge foreign influx in the premiership. The english players are too expensive and it's cheaper to buy foreign players with the same quality.

exactly buddy ,Look at Ngog if that kid had been english with his ability we would have paid 20m for him and we only paid 1.3-1.5m for him
english players are overhyped to quickly by the media ,the only World class english players I think that deserve their praise is Gerrard ,Lampard,Terry,Owen when he was healthy
,Scholes (in his heyday) ,I think Rooney could become world class but needs more time Just to make my point Barcelona paid Arsenal 16m pounds for Prolly the Greatest Epl player (Henry) ,that same season Spurs Bought Darren Bent for 16m pounds from Charlton
Another example Manure buys Ronaldo aged 18 for 12m (he goes on to fulfill his potential by becoming the best player in the world ,they buy Rooney aged 18 for a record 28m
and he still hasnt fulfilled his supposedly great potential taking into consideration that ronaldo is only 10months older than Rooney - Status
