Valencia did OK for Wigan. But if you can't stand out for a team like them, then surely you have no place at United?

Luis Antonio Valencia could cost Manchester United £23m

Manchester United have all but sealed the signing of Wigan midfielder Luis Antonio Valencia thanks to the windfall from selling Cristiano Ronaldo.

Chief executive David Gill is now willing to meet the asking price of around £17.5million for the Ecuadorian star just days after tabling a 'final offer' of £15m-plus-extras.

The deal could now be worth as much as £22.7m with add ons and United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is pushing for the move to be completed before the weekend.

Absolute madness

I'd rather have Lennon or Jesus Navas (who will probably be cheaper) Seriously this is madness. For all we know this guy could flop completely just like Nani :/

Haha, I am sure you could find a collection of photos like that for any player...But I can believe that the rest of the team won't be missing him. No one is bigger than United.

Yeah looks like a good bunch of games to get you started and then Arsenal up at the end of Aug just to keep you on your toes:cool:

Indeed. Not like last season. Looks good to me.

Now we just need to sign some solid replacements for Ronaldo and Tevez.

I would not mind...

Not desperate for Ribery...

What's with this Brazilian teenager, Costa? I have never heard of him...
I think Real's fire-sale will be a good place to look for those replacements. They seem to be discarding some real quality players in there pursuit of "galacticos" (but that's fine with me if we can snap up a few)
Costa is apparently a really good player but like you thats all I've heard:)

And yeah Ribery doesn't really seem to be worth all that fuss and money (Bayern has issued a statement that he is not for sale and that it was falsely reported that he was)

Yip.

Costa is apparently a very fine teenager and has showd a lot of promise.

From what I've read Bayern have now put Ribery up for sale but want 75mil

I would love for Huntelaar, Sneijder and can der Vaart to come to United. I think Huntelaar might go for 17-20mil and Sneijder and van der Vaart for both around 15mil <-- Those are insane prices.

I think we need some quality midfielders because a midfield of Anderson Carrick Fletcher isn't going to cut it.

Sooo...... bring in ze Dutch :)

That's partially true, but remember how the players that we bought in the past never really shone for their teams. It's only when they come to O.T that their true form is realised. Fergie knows how to bring out the best in the players.
