Im not sure what incisive forward pass you are talking about. Carrick will pass to the nearest available player as does Jones and Cleverly - Difference is, that Jones and Cleverly actually try and get the ball rather than waiting in a gap for the ball to come to them. The front men (wingers, strikers and at times the fullbacks) make the inrodes forward

What they also do is provide extra men in and around the box which makes it easier for the frontmen as they are packed with defenders.

How many times did Arsenal pass the ball off whilst Jones was trying to get the ball? How many forward passes vs side/back passes did Jones play?

I just want to see them give Jones one role to focus on. We risk him becoming confused about his best position. While his versatility is a bonus, it can lead to his down fall. He has played CB, RB and CDM so far for us.

Just needs to fill in at LB and GK and he's the new John O'Shea.

From what I saw, he kept Ozil very quiet and the passes they got off werent that effective as they were rushed

FTFY.

Don't know why Fergie let him go... Good back up player!

Up to 4th place today if we win. 1 point behind Chelsea and Liverpool.

Still, Cardiff away isn't easy. And no Carrick :/

Jones also still out?

Time for Fellaini to prove his worth.

Rooney should have seen red for that. He's a lucky chap

Definitely a red.

Fellaini needs to decide where he wants to play. He's not an AM, and he doesn't have the tactical awareness to play as a deep lying playmaker. He was fast asleep for that goal.

[RanzB]

Lovely goal. Right time to score too.

I love this Cardiff crowd.

Very lucky. And then he scores and assists.

All over the place yet again.

[Unhappy1]

Very fortuitous to be leading, i wont complain though

[Unhappy1]

No Carrick and our midfield has been horrid today.

I must be honest I cringe whenever Giggs comes on.

Already spotted a through ball which Welbeck couldn't finish, Cleverly or Fellaini have been unable to do that the entire game.

That's my point. . Our reliance on him to do that. Why can't the other midfield players step up. The man turns 40 end of this week. Where are Nani (Who played well for Portugal mid week) Kagawa (same as Nani on the intl break)...
