No, for sure. Which is why players like RvP, ROoney, Mata, Januzaj etc. need to be the core of the rebuilt team. The rest, are not good enough.

Well yes and no, its hard to judge whos actually not good enough when Moyes is the manager. I imagine Jones,Smalling, Evans, Rafeal, DDG, Welbeck, Kagawa, Carrick and Hernandez all have a place in the squad. How influential they each should be is up for debate. The way i look at it is that this is a squad who have all proven themselves multiple times on multiple occasions. David Moyes has never proven himself once.

True, there are a few more players. Hence the "etc". :)

Our team doesnt look good enough because our manager isnt good enough. Get a decent manager and the team will start showing their true potential again. Its not a coincidence that guys like Henderson have become good under Rodgers and a player like RVP has become schit under Moyes.

Fergie wouldn't coach speed into Vidic's tired legs. Take note of how Sturridge was abusing the channel between Evra and Vidic. Two players who are no longer physically up to the Premier League, no amount of coaching would rectify that.

Cleverley has been on a perpetual decline, even under Fergie. Moyes finally put Anderson out of our misery, another player that had been toss under Fergie. It can be argued that Young is having his best season since he first arrived at the club. That is not saying much, but again, a player that had been misfiring under Fergie. Welbeck is having his best season as a United player. Again, not saying much either as he has hardly been a superstar, but still better than the past season or two.

RvP straight up has the wrong attitude. Fergie sold van Nistlerooy at his peak because of a bad attitude. Evra reportedly got upset with the Baines rumours, so I wouldn't at all be surprised if he is half-arsing it up and down the pitch and it will account for this poor play this season.

Also, Adnan Zanuzaj. A young player that if Phil Neville's story is true Moyes earmarked as a first team player after his first training session in charge. Also, a player that clearly wants to play.

This season needs to end soon. The squad needs to be freshened up and these entitled players need to realise that they actually need to put some effort in.

No matter what - I will never hope we get hammered!

I would love if we could win the CL and qualify....

There is a point to be proven... surely you as a fan can clearly see Moyes has done almost nothing to help his situation... his tactics for United is to pass the ball around the back 4 and punt it up field hoping someone will be there to retrieve and shield it for no one to follow up.
His continued insistence of crossing the ball into the box with 1 player waiting... his non existent midfield strategy. The slow build up play, the lack of movement of players - when Kagawa gets on the pitch no one looks for him no one passes to him or moves into the space he creates...

The way Moyes is asking the players to play is like he asked them to be lazy and mediocre. Which is why I made the comment of breaking United's history down and starting again is NOT where United should be.

Give him time? How much more time? Let him spend millions? for what? make the players stand around waiting for the ball to arrive? Or never pass the ball to your creative midfielder?

How many passes has Rooney made to RVP or Mata?

Hell I'd much prefer to watch Fergie's tactics of backwards and sidewards passes than this punt the ball up field and everyone stand around tactics.

Lastly I cannot stand the way his "I don't know what to do to win" comments... Hell even saying Pool are favourites to win @ Old Trafford - infuriated me!

Although i also dislike Moyes im with dbecks on this one, i could never hope we get hammered just so Moyes might get sacked. Even if an autistic clown was our manager (which i think might be the case) i would still support United to win.

The problem is his set the bar so low, even getting hammered 10-0 by Olympikos or Man City he'd still be our coach...

I think a loss to those two teams and he will be very close to getting the sack.

So thestaggy you think Moyes is A ok?

No, he isn't faultless. He has made a fair few blunders but the decline is not all under his watch nor all his doing. I believe what we are seeing now is part Moyes and part decay under Fergie's watch.

Fergie had the ability to instill fear and iron-willed resolve into lesser players (this type of player is sadly what United has in abundance), which is something I doubt any other manager of this generation can do.

I'll confidently say no current manager in the Premier League would have this current squad competing for the league title. The holes are numerous and glaring and had been slowly opening under Ferguson. Last season RvP was a new coat of paint on cracking walls. The fortress was beginning to crack under Fergie. That team last year was far from Fergie's best, probably the weakest team he ever won the league title with. At times it had to labour to grind out a favourable result. Yes, it worked, but let us not kid ourselves into thinking Moyes inherited a talent-laden squad a la City and Chelsea. I looked at that bench yesterday and I was like ''Dude, where the good players at?''

Ok so would you agree that before looking at which players need replacing we should be trying to get a decent manager in? We can quite easily end up in a worse situation if we keep Moyes and replace half the team. Im very confident that many of these players will start performing at a much higher level once a decent manager is in place.

Also added to that, there is no ways that Liverpool are a more talented team than United, yet Rodgers has them challenging for the title.

Its true, you're welcome to debate the point. I have no doubts that if Rodgers managed United he would be able to do similar things to what hes done at Liverpool.

It took me a while to warm up to BR but that man has a vision and a plan to get there.
Whatever happens with Moyes, I'll be shouting for you lads during the City game 'tho.

Yeah +1. And at least make an effort this time? This rolling over when we need you to stand up and be counted sh.t needs to stop!

:p

Actually, every player he has targeted or has been linked to is considered a classy player; Fabregas, de Rossi, Kroos, Reus, Pogba, Vidal, Koke, etc. He took Fellaini because Woodward messed the Summer window up and even then Fellaini has actually looked much improved in recent weeks.

Mata isn't a mug either.

Yes, United are linked to every player in the world - I just dont think Moyes has the pull, and with no CL looking likely, even worsens his case

I don't think Moyes is a bad manager, what he did with Everton has to be respected. But I think his model of how to play football is wrong. We don't have the best squad in the league but its definitely not performing to the standard that it should. If we were in 3rd or 4th, not necessarily challenging for the title but there or there abouts I wouldn't mind but the drop off that we have seen this season shows it must be more than just the change in management that has affected us, the brand of football we have playing has been terrible.

The manager in the closest position to Moyes is Martinez, he also came in to replace a long standing and relatively successful manager. But why has he had such success and Moyes hasn't? To me the problem is the brand of football Moyes wants to play and the players he has trying to play it.

I feel like we are playing a slow, direct style of football which is simply not in the United spirit nor is it attractive or effective. When you have Mata, Rooney, Januzaj and Carrick in the mid field you will never succeed playing direct football, there isn't the physicality there to do so. Quick passing, running off the ball and catching teams on the counter. Those are what our players are suited to. I'm starting to doubt if he has the tactical ability to adapt or if he is a one dimensional manager. Was he really SAF's 1st choice?

Rumours of a massive dressing room bust up after the Liverpool game, Giggs telling Moyes he is clueless and his coaching is useless. Apparently they spend hours on just defensive work and nothing on attacking.

Doubt it.
