Hi Guys,
N8 is on special from Metro in Menlyn. You get a Nokia 5800 free with Nokia N8 on business call for R185.
I got this special yesterday. Now i have few questions.
1. How do I disconnect from the internet.
I have set the connection to always ask, then when trying to acess an application which uses internet it ask me to connect to internet. Which is fine. But it does not disconnect automatically after i am done with application.
2. Any tips to save battary.
3. Did anybody buy a pouch for the phone. If yes, please tell me where and how much?
thanks,
kotesh
You'll need to set your widgets to offline mode on one of the home screens. "Options" -> "Widgets to offline mode".
one of the Engadget editors described Nokia as manufacturing beutifully crafted knives, but everyone else is making guns. what do u say to this?
not a troll
IMHO the N8 is a great midrange phone but cant really compete against the high end Androids, iOS4 or WM7.
Some pretty impressive shots here where the N8 is compared to a Canon 550D DSLR

I am not sure if this was asked and answerd here befor, but i read soem where the n8 can play .mkv and divx files with out any extra conversion or software required.
is this true?
My N8 plays .mkv files fine...
Not sure about divx files... What extension are divx files? The camera records .mp4 video files...
Dude u still running symbian? bwahaha nice one!.... No dude seriously? Say you're joking man it aint funny anymore!
I don't get it... what's wrong with Symbian? Look at the CPU clockspeed compared to Android and iOS devices, then compare performance.
Just heard something on a video review that I had not considered before....
I know that the N8 has USB on the go which allows you to plug in a USB hard drive, flashstick and the like and view it as a drive on the phone. What I hadn't realised is that it also enables you to plug in a USB keyboard and use that! Or so the review says....
Excellent!

Haters beware, Steve Litchfield is a Symbian fan of sorts so rather don't watch it![]()
