Official NOKIA N8 thread

I am on product code 0599399, updated my Ovi suite to Nokia Suite 3.3.86 and started the process to download and update my N8 running on anna to belle.
It finished downloading the large update file and went through the process of backing up my contents and after that i got an error message "Something went wrong"
Next screen it tells me that "Your phone is restarting" (with a couple of warning messages) but i have been on this screen for at least 45mins now without any progress.
My phone is still behaving as per norm but i'm not sure about what to do next.
It doesn't seem like it had started the process of updating my phone yet but i'm being given instructions not to touch the phone or even disconnect the cable,

Help, what do i do? Has anyone else experienced this?
 
I'm still waiting for the official Vodacom Belle firmware... anyone else on Vodacom with success (using official channels OTA and nokia/ovi suite)?

I tried asking the Vodacom Repairs Team directly (082 1944 - Free from any Voda sim) and they said they got a memo ~2 weeks ago that it has been released. But I still get "no updates available" using OTA.

Maybe someone else can phone and by luck speak to a more clued up consultant...

Since it is a huge download, it won't be available OTA. As far as I know, it should upgrade fine using Nokia Suite. I have the same product code and managed to upgrade by flashing the phone with Phoenix. There is another thread explaining how to do that. Try Nokia Suite first, though.
 
I first did an upgrade check on the N8 itself and it confirmed upgrade ready via Nokia Suite so I updated my N8 successfully file >200mb
 
my n8 can no longer play videos i captured with its camera,it says 'server error,invalid web addres or the phone just closes the video player

Mine is also same product code and i upgraded to Belle using Nokia ovi suite on 29th Feb already.
 
Does anyone know how to activate power saving in Belle without actually having a low battery? In previous versions you would just click on the battery and the option to activate power saving would show up

So found a realy odd bugg on mines if anyone else wants to test if its just me.
Everytime I want to use google maps it keeps crashing (Use Google maps for latitude location keep an eye when the boss is close to the office :) )
but this only happens only if Wifi is turned off, as soon as i turn wifi on (even if im not conected to any wifi hotspot) it works fine.

Please can some one else test?

How better is this from ovi maps?
 
Yeah, was just thinking, OVI is better, allows you to download the map onto the phone I.E use less data, where google maps doesn't have that option.. um.. Ok.. can check it out for you.. What version of Belle do you have?
 
I don't have email set up, pretty much every app is always closed except for WhatsApp. Thats the only app that runs, and I have the Glass Apple theme installed now, which is mostly black.

Anyways, only 3.5 months left to my next upgrade.
