Ferguson was furious after Dean overruled assistant Jake Collin and awarded Newcastle's second goal in the Red Devils' 4-3 win.

The FA on Thursday confirmed no action would be taken against the Red Devils boss as Dean made no reference to Ferguson confronting him in his report. Ferguson approached Dean as he made his way out for the second half, before rounding on the fourth official Neil Swarbrick and Collin.

Football managers, take note. It is now apparently okay to rush onto the pitch and remonstrate aggressively with the match officials. Ferguson gave a piece of his mind to referee Mike Dean, fourth official Neil Swarbrick and linesman Jake Collin in turn on Sunday during the Newcastle clash and faces no charge after Dean failed to mention the incident in his report. So harangue away, managers - apparently it's now absolutely okay..

I'm not sure what the FA is supposed to do if the referee doesn't think it was that bad.

People wanna concentrate on SAF, that's fine. United just keep pushing forward. Don't wanna point out the obvious, but the only ones complaining about this are the ones whose clubs aren't doing well. I notice that two LFC fans have commented on this, yet I don't see one post about LFC today.. Didn't they play yesterday?

I'm not sure why you guys are bothered, honestly.

I wasn't complaining about it :/ I just asked if Wenger got banned for something similiar.

LFC didn't play yesterday, at least not the Liverpool I expect to play matches. Disgusting performance, not even worth commenting on.

I think he got banned for a push on Atkinson. However, it was Atkinson, so I have no doubt he deserved it.

Still.. I'd love to hear from Kopite and Singhdude since they can't shut up when it comes to other teams.

Did you read the article I posted a few days back on Fergie's influence? I mean, seriously, which ref would be stupid enough to go against him? The man's been knighted, he's a living legend and practically controls the entire British footballing landscape through sheer force of will.

What a load of crud. Which referee would go against him? Maybe the same one who overruled a linesman against SAF's advantage. The same one who chickened out of giving SAF's team a penalty for a handball in a game where the goal would have made the difference between winning and losing. Maybe that referee.

Again with this conspiracy nonsense.

It's not a conspiracy dude, and there are a few exceptions to the rule. He's a big boy in football, and he throws his weight around - as he is entitled to after his achievements. I'm not complaining, I think it superb (for you lot anyway).

EDIT: Did you even bother reading the article? You know I don't post those conspiracy critiques, just generally good reads.

I know what you're saying, just saying that I disagree completely. As for the few exceptions part, in almost every game this season we've had key decisions go against us, so I'm not sure what you've seen.

I do agree SAF has a certain influence, but it does not extend to the FA or the refs.
 
It is unfortunate but I am the manager of the most famous club in the world. Not Newcastle, a wee club in the north east.

Nah, it's just dumb egos at work (from both sides). I'm sure Pardew also wants to shift focus from his side's inability to hold a lead, hence the nonsense directed at SAF.
