Since I could not come across one such thread I decided to create a thread for the worlds most successful club.

Hala Madrid

Nice, I'm actually both a Real Madrid and Barcelona fan because I guess I like the Spanish way of playing but if they play each other I find myself supporting Real madrid so lets see if this thread can produce anything interesting.

dont tell me you one of those that saw the 9-1 and thing hey RM must be worth supporting? :p

Also can't believe there was no thread for RM.

Awesome game against Granada, we needed to start on a good foot after the international break. It's gonna be really tough to make up those 4 points to Barca. They managed to grind out a victory yesterday, even though they didn't play well. There's still 9 games to go, so there's still time for Barca to slip up.

At the moment I'm hoping we can count on Athletico to take 3 points from Barca, when they play in a few weeks. That and hopefully a draw against another team may put us back on top. That's assuming we can win all our remaining matches.

Really ?

I've been supporting them since the Zidane,Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos era.

Madrid have thrown away a few games at the turn of the year.

The reason why you'll get a lot of skeptical questions like is, is: when a team is winning the "supporters" suddenly crawl out the woodworks... Where were you they lost the league then won the CL last season? Where were you when they lost the lead after blitzing the league away at the beginning of the season? Now after a 9-1 victory suddenly the "supporters" start cropping up?

What should he have done in those instances you mentioned? Started a thread about how sad he felt?
You're sounding like those forumites who expect other forumites to explicitly condemn every terrorist attack to prove that they don't support terrorism.

Can we just have a thread where Madrid supporters (casual to die hard) share their opinions and not be questioned on their devotion to the club?

Personally I support Man Utd and Real Madrid. I support Utd because that's what my family support and who I grew up supporting. I've only started supporting RM since Ronaldo joined them in 2009, and at the time I would consider myself a casual fan.

Over the past year or so I have probably watched every game Madrid have played (that has been shown on DStv) and now choose to watch Real over Utd when they are playing at the same time. I follow all the news and rumours as well. So I'd say I'm a pretty staunch Madrid fan.

In summary, can we try to keep this thread free from bashing, both team and supporter. There have been RM/Barca threads in the past that have been closed due to bashing, if I recall correctly. So let's try to prevent this from happening here.

Yeah, that thread was so messy :D

I used to support Man United when I was younger and then I lost interest in it for about a decade,so wouldn't even call myself a supporter of them.

I dont know how that happens as I get more and more fanatical every season

I think it was when they were on a winning run for a few seasons and I simply got bored of them always winning, after that I had other hobbies and interests keeping me busy.

What got me to start enjoying watching football again was when I was at a friends house and he was watching Barcelona vs Real Madrid,Barcelona won that game but more importantly to me I really enjoyed it and developed an appreciation for the deep rivalry and quality of the two teams and their playing styles.I decided I preferred the Spanish smooth classy way of playing as opposed to the English rough physical crude type game.

A pity you can only watch a game like that a few times a season as most times you get the Granada type performance, or similar, when the big teams play the small teams.

Yeah...that seems pretty boring when Barca and Real are always winning and the only 2 really competing (Last year was something different with AM)
