I think it was when they were on a winning run for a few seasons and I simply got bored of them always winning, after that I had other hobbies and interests keeping me busy.
What got me to start enjoying watching football again was when I was at a friends house and he was watching Barcelona vs Real Madrid,Barcelona won that game but more importantly to me I really enjoyed it and developed an appreciation for the deep rivalry and quality of the two teams and their playing styles.I decided I preferred the Spanish smooth classy way of playing as opposed to the English rough physical crude type game.
I hear ya but dont get how you get bored of your team winning. Secondly, The rivalries/derbies of the English league are just as deep if not deeper and besides just 2 teams, you have the local derbies (Pool/Everton, Arse/Spurs, City/United) and rivalries like United/Pool which is just enthralling no matter what the two teams are doing.
I think the English game is tougher but dont think the Spanish league is smoother or classier (Barca and Real have the players and can play a fancy game, but the rest of the teams dog it out - just like AM did last year). I could be wrong, but just sharing my 2c
