Official Super Rugby 2014 Thread

How I'm seeing it. The top 3 is between the Chiefs, Saders and Sharks. My money is on the Chiefs to retain it, with the final with either the Saders or Sharks.

The bottom is also going to be interesting, being contested by the Force, Lions and Rebels. I have my money on the Rebels getting the wooden spoon. Not because I'm a Lions supporter, but I think the Rebels have lost the most valuable players, O'Conner and Beale. Also the Rebels are away to the Lions at Ellis Park in the second last round robin games.

Supersport has tweeted that the bonus points for a bye are being scrapped.

I am so glad. Explaing that table to my friends was a weekly ordeal. With the Aussie sides shifting games, it got even more complicated.

Interresting, one of the bigger punters have put a biggish bet, maybe about a grand I think, on the Bulls to get the wooden spoon at 50/1.

I also think the Bulls will struggle, but wooden spoon? I still have my money on the Rebels for that honour.

Let the games and divorce's start.

Mmm, I can not see the bulls ending below the Lions or the rebels. I am willing to bet that they might end in the bottom 6 though :o

Easy results this week, wins for the Cheetahs and Sharks.

Also the Lions will play without a shirt sponsor, meaning that the Kings are no longer the only team to have done it.

Mmm....3 injuries to that backline and the Lions will put another 50 past them, but yes I still believe the Rebels will take the wooden spoon.

It is just the way the draw was done. IIRC, last year only the Ozzies played in the first week.

My apologies if this has been asked before and answered, but why are NZ and Aus not playing this weekend ?

It's because the June tours are different for the 3 countries. Last year Aus had the Lions and got more time off to prepare. It caused havoc with the log, as some times a team didn't play, but wasn't on a bye, and thus didn't get points.

Finally the day arrives!

Wrong. Jonsson Workwear have signed as the Lions' shirt sponsor.

Right you are, but I think that I posted before that announcement came out.

Also, mods please unsticky the 2013 thread and sticky this one instead.
