Official Super Rugby 2016 Thread

Nothing went right for the Lions today. Congrats to the Hurricanes.

Proud Lions supporter.

They had a brilliant season. Canes were the better team on the day. Now for the Currie Cup :D

Every single NZ side has now won the Super Rugby tournament. That's crazy.

Travel is a big factor. It was in the quarters and semis and it is today. Doesn't suddenly make the Lions a bad team. A lot to be proud of.

Wasn't the final normally played 2 weeks after the semis in past comps?

Just occurred to me.

Damn right. Some of the inane comments flying around on social media about "Oh how did player x, y or Z become a springbok" just piss me off. They've been phenomenal the whole season, well deserved finalists and played some scintillating rugby. Very happy for them and their supporters. No one deserves it more than them after years in the rugby doldrums.

Supeeeer proud of the Lions for making the final. Guys just did not look up to it tonight. I just hope Jantjies can pull himself together for the Rugby Championship to compete with Lambie.

Aaaand in other news....... Currie Cup! Go Blue Bulls

I'm not going all negative on this. Our guys did well. Very well to get there in the first place. Just not their night. And Canes were amazing.

Those comments about "same old SA stampkar rugby" are wrong. Lions did themselves and us proud this season.

Hats to WWW and the boys.
