By the way does anyone know where one can get a fixtures CSV to import into a calendar?

For the last 10 years I've made one and distributed it to friends. But this year I just haven't had the time.

Tasman Makos winger Viliami Lolohea has signed with the Sunwolves ahead of the 2016 Super Rugby competition.

Apparently this guy is quite good in the ITM cup and didn't make it into any New Zealand Super Rugby team this year, also played at the Crusaders and was in their 2015 training group.

Check try #3

Strong and clever runner.

Yeah, there are a couple of these guys that 'slip through the cracks' a bit. Look at someone like Telusa Veainu. Wasn't given much of a chance in Super Rugby but now he's shining for Leicester.

Yep, where the struggling financially Super Rugby franchises are able to pick these guys up for a fraction of their worth, those which slipped through. These players will do anything for more exposure, especially to get a chance on premier/world-class level.

I read somewhere a while back that the Sunwolves only have a player budget big enough to maintain three of the top players at the Panasonic Wild Knights, iirc Robbie Deans made this remark. Recruiting a player like Lolohea into their squad is like finding a lost treasure, the Top League players in the Sunwolves are still on their club payrolls. The rest of their budget seemed to go into their management…

In naming Beast Mtawarira as his stand-in captain while Pat Lambie recovers from injury, coach Gary Gold has made a bold call, opting to back a player who is widely respected within the squad for his loyalty and commitment, despite being short on captaincy experience.

Well done Beast .... may you rise to the occasion!

Took a bit of a gamble on the Blues, but hoping Tana Umaga can turn them around.
