Official Super Rugby 2016 Thread

Looking forward to seeing the lions play next year. They kept a core good side and it looks like a happy ship. God knows there long suffering fans deserve a break.

You said it!

That red doesn't work at all.

If you stick it on a pole and shine a light from the inside it will make for a great way to scare the kids next Halloween.

Yep...

New Reds jersey as boring as ever. :p

Bulls rugby jersey is a poor attempt at using their franchise name. Can only think it was a brain fart in their decision making. Pity.

This jersey was designed specifically to make all the EP players feel more at home at the Bulls...
:D

I was very wrong about the Bull on the jersey. But I like both the black/red and the blue version.
Botha, Gelant and Labuschagne look friendlier in the black and red.

Quite a crappy way to be treated...

The Sharks have clarified confusion over a group of players that will not feature in their Super Rugby plans for 2016.

Last week the union announced that Jaco van Tonder, JC Astle, Lionel Cronje, Marco Wentzel, Waylon Murray and Wiehan Hay had been released from their contract.

But the union has since confirmed that, in fact, those players are still contracted to the Sharks but have been encouraged to seek employment elsewhere.

"Our wording of 'players having been released from their contracts' was factually incorrect," the Sharks said on their website.

Can't help but think things are not well at the Sharks at top level.

And things off the field start to show on the field. Exhibit A is Currie Cup 2015 performance.

Hoping the new coach and having many players back makes 2016 way better than anything 2015 was .......

That's a pretty low base unfortunately, if we can get through Super Rugby without any red cards it would be a marked improvement.
