What I cannot stand are our South African commentators not wanting to make a fuss whenever there is an incident of sorts. Whether it be a fight; a terrible tackle; a dubious try etc. What was quite clear was that he not only turned him through 90 degrees but he drove him into the ground with his shoulder. Both of those are yellow card offences yet Joel Stransky was telling us how it was a slightly over-the-top "telling" tackle.

I wish our commentators would grow a bloody pair and just voice their actual opinions. Don't even get me started on their reaction to the ridiculous call by the linesman regarding The Sharks' disallowed try for a supposed dangerous entry by Willem Alberts at the ruck. Willem took the guy with both arms and the commentators then say "it might be a bit harsh but it's an understandable call".

What Alberts did looked remarkably similar to what Rene Ranger did to Basson the previous Saturday.
But I'm not a schmucks fan, so....

But don't put any money on the Sharks. If the rumour mill can be believed, he does not get along with the Sharks coaching staff and it was one of his main reasons for leaving in the first place. The other being money of course.

I was actually hoping that he would go to the sharks as they have the "weakest" centres in SA imo. I would obviously not mind him coming to the Bulls and plugging him and Sadie in as centre combo with Venter on the bench :D

I do wonder where he will go as at the Stormers he will be playing behind Jean and De Jongh, the Lions can not afford him, if you are right he does not want to play for the sharks (management) and the Cheetahs will also not be able to afford him. The Bulls also are not exactly looking desperately for a new centre as Venter has been good, Sadie will be back from injury and Wynand is a "steady management favourite"....

Care to wager a guess?

Wonder if he has pled guilty? If he has it should be a minimum of 2 weeks.

From one angle it looks like he goes in with his shoulder. From the front-on angle though it is clear as day (and the ref was right there) that he went in low but used his arms. I can see how as a Wee-Pee supporter you're not used to seeing big hits, but they still happen, I promise...

We don't play dirty rugby like the schmucks, so it's easier for us to spot it than for you guys.

All because I threatened to send him a Stormers t-shirt. I think he has a tendency to act like a bit of a drama queen. Like that time Percy got tackled and Cape Town went on strike...

At least they aren't a bunch of biased pricks like the Aussie/Kiwi commentators.

Nah, I think you're confused with the time that Percy's wife beat him up for using her mousse without permission.

He got tackled in England once (At a Harrod's sale), not here afaik.
 
Who is going to win This Years 2012 Super Rugby? I vote for the Stormers, they are becoming a force to be recon with

I vote the refs as they seem to cntrol a fair amount of outcomes these days :p

I think this year it is open for the taking. If the Sharks can play like they played for that 20 min "come back period" against the reds every game for 40-50 minutes they should see a semi final.

If the stormers keep defending like lions and not forget to actually play rugby for 80 minutes then they could also easily make the semis.

The bulls have a slight chance but I am afraid I do not see the cheetahs / Lions do great things as they just do not have the depth of the other unions and barring a miracle where they lose no players to injury for the largest part of the tournament I just can not see them getting into the top 6.

I think the cheetahs have showed some signs of true inspiration so far but I really think it is too early to make any predictions. These 3 or 4 games have proven themselves to be anything but an indicator, if our expectations are anything to go by. If The Sharks can learn to play rugby for both halves (not just 20min, Devill :p ) then we will be a force to be reckoned with, but even we are struggling with squad depth at the moment. The Bulls - I just don't see it happening this year. Province are looking good and I think we're going to see another coastal takeover.

The Australasian teams are looking hot too. Do not discount teams like the highlanders or the brumbies from pulling something of a surprise on us this year...

Yeah, I do not think the Bulls will find a top 5 place this year but saying that if the Sharks keep up their Hot/cold play the Bulls might just bump them for second place in the SA conference.

Yes, yes it breaks my heart to say it but I think the stormers will win this year's SA conference again :o
