While I agree it was not the best showing of SA Rugby, I don't think we should confuse this game, with how the franchises would normally play.

IMO the Sharks knew that few tries are scored against the Stormers and thus tried to play a territorial game, which is unfortunately exactly what the Stormers chose to do as well. I'm not defending that choice though.... I prefer the attacking/counter attacking style the Sharks would usually employ.

JdV's post match interview also alluded to difficult conditions, and as we were not handling the ball ourselves, I'd take their word for it.

I remember playing rugby in Feb and March and it really is killer playing in this humidity. I think a lot of people don't know the conditions because all they are are armchair critics.
 
Yeah, it was a crap game period.

Standard of the rugby was poor. I don't accept the 'derby' or 'dew' excuses.

Look at the Blues vs Crusaders game by contrast.

Technically we not up to scratch.

I really though the Force might take it at around 20 minutes to go. Not one Bulls player look good / dangerous at that time in the game.

Pathetic showing for 65 minutes :(

And I think from the way basson fell and the way he limped off he is out for at least the next game or two :(

I hope all the SA teams can improve. The Sharks vs Stormers was a "leave everything on the field" type of game. It was sad to see that they both kick so much, but for the Sharks a win is a win is a win, no matter how ugly.

In my opinion the stormers should take a leaf out of the WP CC team's book and incorporate a tad more running rugby.

You've played in Durban in Feb/March? How can you compare the Blues and Crusaders match when the conditions are worlds apart, really.
 
South African teams just don't have the skill levels to cope in those conditions. Even in the pouring rain you'll see the NZ and to a lesser extent the Aussies mixing up their games.
 
Just looking at superbru and there are 2 tough calls this weekend.

Canes v Crusaders. - crusaders by 9
Stormers v Chiefs. - stormers by 5
 
The way the Chiefs played this past weekend, the Breezers might be in for a hiding. Only thing in their favor is that the Chiefs may be a bit miff from travelling. Canes vs Crusaders match, I'll prolly also go with the Crusaders taking it.

It is a little harder than that for me...

Blues dished out hidings to both although that Crusader hiding was more unexpected and imo harsher. Crusaders may be out for pride, needing to salvage something ahead of a long season. Stormers likewise. I expect both to play their hardest games but I have confidence in neither. I am almost tempted to go Chiefs/Canes as I stand at the moment. I'll flip a coin later.
 
This looks likes its going to be. Tight game.
