Official Thread: Samsung Galaxy S (I9000)

Thanks you guys. The hidden apps of lp works well enough. There is still.a few things that i want to custimize will do it later.

Hey all on darkkys rom i cant recieve calls, rings once, then the phone displays no service then regains signal and does no even show up as a missed call!! Going to Stock 2.2.1 JPU

Ok this afternoon i tried Darky 5.4 and had issues with contacts not syncing, but still displaying the contact if i typed in the number going to try 5.5 now and see. 5.4 fixed the issue of the ringing and call dropping

So I have now reached a point where I think I'm going to flash to Froyo before the end of the weekend but want the stock ROM only. After reading through some of this forum again I get nervous about bricking my phone. I just don't want to sukkel.

Just flash'd Darkys Gingerbread 5.5 rom. All good. Except for some reason i cannot connect to kies, let alone access the phone via explorer. Any help?

I dont. But i need access to the phone. and my pc is not picking it up?

Does the phone see the usb connection but not the computer?

If so then click on the usb notification and choose 'ask every time'. Then plug in again and choose to transfer files.

Just realised I have the same issue. Its such a pity since its a brilliant rom!

Hey, pardon the noob, but why is my Sgs using my airtime before using my data on my prepaid Mtn sim? Never had this issue before. Swype rules by the way!

That doesnt have anything to do with the sgs, i read that other people also had that problem in the mtn forums

Ok thanks, wasn't sure where to take it up first. Switching to my Cell C sim tomorrow and will see if the problem persists.

I had the same problem on 5.5 using the easy guide. I reinstalled 5.5 using the clean guide and the problem was gone. Still had some lag opening the app drawer sometimes though. Fixed by using launcher pro instead.

Today I upgraded to 5.6 using the updated easy guide no problems. The guide states that first time installs should rather do at least 1 clean install.

5.6 No longer loads voodoo by default and xda comments from darky himself says it's no longer needed. But upgrading using Easy method is really easy when on 5.x as you don't have to disable voodoo lagfix.

Since my lagfix was enabled in 5.5 it was not automatically disabled during the upgrade but I might disable it since they claim it's not needed.

Otherwise this rom(my first) is super fast. I am using my own launcher pro(purchased it) config and tweaked the opening speeds to 9 and disabled 3D. Makes this rom feel so snappy.

Those of you who imported an unbranded SGS from the UK should be able to update to the new official JPX 2.2.1 firmware using Kies.

Nice! I hope there is a Kies registry hack for this like there was for 2.2. Will go and read.

For those of you who are interested in an early port of the Nexus X Gingerbread to the SGS:

Not yet availabe for me yet - mine is an unbranded SGS imported from UK - seems its not yet available to all, with other UK users also reporting that no update is available to them. Just takes time i guess. I recall that it took a few days for the official Froyo release to be available to me as well...
