flippen fast :) 9.3 was horrible for me... lots of Force closes and lags.. and struggled to get a days battery.

Battery life looking 10 times better, and no Force closes and a lot faster and smoother to me.
 
Haven't downloaded as yet however it seems many people having issues with this release...apps fc...phone rebooting...phone dialer hanging after ending calls, recording of calls not working properly...apps not installing properly....darky mentioned that he will be releasing another version with all these fixes...think I'll wait....probably 9.5

Was released too soon I think plus he working on the gingerbread version as well... That is also seriously buggy at the moment....

Any one having issues with 9.4?

On that note - I've been reading through some of the Darky forums and quite a few people have been having issues.
30 minutes for first time boot and stuff.
I'm downloading it now at the office (yay free bandwidth :p ) and will give it a go.
So sick of reading that people are getting 2 and half to 3 days usage out of their handsets :mad: I'll show you heavy usage :twisted:

Going to try it out for myself and see.
If all else fails - just a flash back to Doc and Stef's goods :)

what issues you having? Did you wipe? How does the new dark voodoo kernel compare to normal voodoo?
 
Successfully flashed Darky's 9.4.
First boot was around 7 minutes.
Rom seems very fast.
[-]Gonna enable all lagfixes with Dark Voodoo 5.5 and see what it's all cracked up to be.[/-] Well it seems that Lagfix is automatically enabled with the CWM installation :)
Initially it seems a bit perkier than Doc's JS5, Quadrant is around 1265 which was the same I had on SpeedMod and Doc Rom before.
Not that Quadrant means a thing to me anymore. It's all about the feel.
The look - I'm not so keen on, as Blue Steel 3.1 was really "macking" my phone out :p :D

So will see how I feel about for a day or so.
On JQ1 Modem that came with the ROM.
Miss the ease of choice from the Kitchen.
Still got my modems on my phone - so will flash the desired one in CWM.

Is that good, cause I don't use it much and when I do I never really wait. Maybe it is because the triangulation works really well.

Yes it is very good.
I did a 18 minute trip and the GPS had not even got a lock on in that time :-/.

JPX sucks for GPS but is better for HSDPA signal.
 
Darky's 9.4 has roughly the same feel as 9.3. Wanted to take a chance to flash the 10.0 Beta 3 last night but decided to rather wait for a more stable release.

The thing was laggy quite often even with lagfixes. Could not install some of my apps either. Here and there I saw speed improvement but smoothness was a real issue. I didn't keep it on long enough to be able to tell you for sure how much better it is because it frankly gave me headache from the get go. I have flashed back to v9.3 again. They will iron out the issues but until they do I will keep to what works virtually without flaws and with smoothish speed.

i agree, slight lag is very much noticeable compared to standard voodoo 5.5 although i must admit that my battery life is already showing signs of improvement. My battery thus far has been on 99% with sms's and calls for over an hour whereas previously it drained much quicker after a full charge…… Anyway will monitor for few days and see how it goes once everything settles.

using the recommended JQ1 modem....also no problems with any apps… lets hope all stays this way, i can deal with this slight lag....for now...

got 2 days first charge ! now it lasted 2.5 days :) much better than my average of every night to charge :) they have done something magical !
 
All new flashes feel fast.. that's one thing iv noticed.... finally settled on serendipity + jq1 + ultimate kernal :-) .. just perfect!

Actually just been browsing over the Serendipity thread on xda.
Still need to make sense of it all.
Darky's 9.4 is said to have a few bugs, for me thus far it's been just fine.

I've got no more bandwidth to download 9.3, so it'd better behave itself :p :D

One thing that's been playing on my mind wrt to 9.4 and flashing to say a Doc or Ultimate Rom.
Fugutweaks and Voodoo Lagfix are enabled automatically.
Undoing voodoo lagfix shouldn't be an issue, just worried about Fugutweaks as I know nothing about it.
Haven't looked at the CWM 3. screen with any real vigour, but am I correct in assuming that fugutweaks can be disabled there?
Is is necessary to disable them before flashing? I'd imagine as much. *tired*
