Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Afrihost website shows a network notice about problems in the South. Guessing it doesn't just apply to Afrihost, and VOX are just slow to the party as usual.
 
Big berg wind headed our way tomorrow. Maybe that's it...
 
VOX as usual are saying it's not them, even though I've e-mailed them concrete proof that its on their network.
I'm getting 400ms+ to london and averaging 60% packet loss.

Using my Axxess account as backup.
 
Any recommendations of who to try for a great capped account, besides Vox? Tired of this crap.
 
Getting throttled hard on my Vox Capped account, transferring works files via FTP. 60kbps max.
Firing up a VPN and suddenly it flies at 1.4mbps.

Been seeing this more and more over the last couple of months. Why do we have to use a VPN just to use our data at a non-retarded speed? Sometimes even with the VPN I get throttled, then connecting with my uncapped Vox account or backup account with another ISP will fly...

Not good Vox, not good.
 
Definitely only VOX, I switched to my Telkom Account and am Streaming HD at 1.1MBs on a 10Mbs line.
VoX was timing out opening 10MB PDF documents.
 
Last few days I've noticed my connection would die between every 2-5 minutes, dropping about 5 pings, then continue again.
Pinging Telkom with about 200-300ms, while google was only 65-80ms.

Dialled up with my afrihost account now, and both Telkom and Google now only 65ms, with no dropped packets after 10 minutes...
 
Yes the Cape Town Barack Street IPC is under load.

So my Vox is utter useless tonight,over 300 ping and spikes to 2000 making it useless.Axxess seems alright

EDIT,Nope axxess is 400ms as well

I get time outs on the tracert to Barrack to using both Vox and Axxess. Pages are loading slow and I cant even get a YouTube 720p stream to work properly. This is on a 4mb line with me being the only one using at. This was late at night.
 
Shaping is active again tonight.

I have been watching a P2P (ACE) Stream all day with no problems or buffering.
Suddenly at 5:45 the stream just stopped with no warning.
Trying to restart returned No Streams (peers) Found.

Loaded up the Telkom account and tried again and instantly saw 20 Peers and Began streaming at 800KBs.

VOX claim not to shape fat pipe but how else can the line profile suddenly change to drop all P2P traffic when the same line works fine on an different ISP account?

Decided to check out this "ACE Stream" that you're talking about, and holy crap... it looks awesome :D

/me downloads ACE stream :)
