Official Vox DSL feedback thread

No issues here, connection still going strong [touch wood]. :)

Am starting to see some odd page loads on some sites but a refresh fixes it. Will report back if it becomes a bigger issue lol.
 
I am not as happy as I use to be with VOX, never had a single issue in the past with them but lately when we stream it is boarder line nightmare stuff and requires the obligatory call to technical side to get them sort it out,where we are told it simply cannot be them it must be telkom, we then go through the process of explaining to the person that when we switch to the two different back up ISP's I still have it all works without a problem, they then go away and come back a few minutes later and say they have fixed it and have but only till that evening or the next day where we then need to start all over again.

Seriously considering moving over to a different ISP if this cannot be fixed.
Something we have noticed is as soon as the issue happens all sites load really slowly for what ever reason. Sad as we always had great service from VOX in the past.
 
So telkom fibre connected yesterday. I dialled into my vox details. Anyone know how it is possible that my vox login (previously used on ADSL WITH Bolt-On) maxes out at 3mb on a telkom 100mb line? Im sure this is throttling?

Bolt-On is rate limited to 10Mbs during the unmetered hours, are you on OG bolt-on or the Fatpipe Lite?

Seldom, if ever - one goes by the name @Voxy ; probably lurkes in the background :p, reading the posts, but hardly ever responds to anything, unlike Afrihost who are onto everything like a shot.

I find the best is to e-mail them with the issue/s, and they tend to look into it or them quickly, and contact you by phone.

Yes Vox respond via phone or email and actually get the job done with issues.

Don't be fooled by the Afrihost activity on the forum. All they do is buy time, requesting test after test and never getting back to you with any conclusive feedback.

AFRIHOST - It has been 4 months that i request a manager to contact me! You are incompetent and Vaughn a so called supervisor will just "Forget" about actual calls logged and then just stop responding! I have over 197 emails with proof! I had enough now! please share and spread this all over the INTERNET. You can contact me for full details and proof of AFRIHOST incompetent no care attitude! You are happy to take my money but can not even respond to email requests! I am still waiting for proof that a manager exists in AFRIHOST????? Ps: 10Mbps on a 40Mbps VDSL managed by AFRIHOST!

Currently experiencing high latency and only 25% throughput on international traffic with fatpipe. Local is fine.
Is there a known issue? Seacom outage related?

Having the same issue on Fatpipe Lite plus Bolt-on.

Why not just move your line back to Telkom (that you manage), and get only data from say, Vox, Axxess or even Afrihost ?
 
Eish the interwbz is useless tonight cannot even stream SD... on 100mbps fibre. Local speedtest and international speedtest not showing any problems. Tested with my WA too, same problem. Some underseas pipe must be leaking data. Youtube is fine though?

What streaming is slow ?
 
Same here, all set for the last 3 episodes of Sense8 managed to watch 85% of Episode 8 and it went south, rate dropping to 380P then kicked me out. Switched to Telkom and It wouldn't even start the stream.

I guess it is a cable fault, Youtube is cached Locally, Netflix etc. are not yet.

Will call VOX in the morning if its not fixed, as I want to watch the F1 Free Practice sessions on SKY F1.

Busy watching netflix at 1080. And I'm on a 4mbps line.
