Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Anyone on Vox Fatpipe willing and able to test a Terrarium stream (using Real-Debrid) and let me know how it goes? Trying to pin point issues I am experiencing.

Question: On my Vox fatpipe I can get max 10mbps download, yet on my axxess account I can get 20mbps - does vox not support higher speed than 10m on dsl?

I'm using it on a 40Mbps line and get ~39Mbps on a speed test.

Getting 90Mbps on a 100Mbps line, which is about right after overheads (I kind of did limit it on my router as well, without the bandwidth control I get 94Mbps).

Anybody else in the North been having issues this week? Every evening from around 18:00 my twitch.tv streams go to crap and buffer even on 160p and my WoW latency shoots sky high. When I try a different ISP account it is completely fine.

Hi, whereabouts are you? I have been having problems for the last 2 weeks with high latencies in the evenings.

I am still battling to stream real-debrid links on vox. On AH, they seem to be working really well. Switch back to vox - dead in the water with a max speed of 1 mbps (on AH I get 8-9 mbps). This occurs even when using a vpn. Any one able to offer some insight?

Quick question - is fatpipe shaped or unshaped?

Shaped.

It was advertised as unshaped but south African Companies have been getting away for years by claiming that "Prioritising" is not "Shaping". Eventually a clause did appear in the Terms of service for fat pipe that "Reserves the right to shape" .

If you are streaming ACE or any other Torrent stream you can see them turn off P2P as all Peers disappear simultaneously.

If you are streaming anything other than Netflix or Youtube, Support won't help, so guess who is paying for Prioritization in our not so Net Neutral society.

Lovely.
Thanks for reply.
Know of any isp that offers (true) unshaped at a decent price? Please PM me if you do.
Kodi and Terrarium have been terrible, but p2p has been fine on vox.

Can't say I've noticed shaping on it though.

No such thing unless you're willing to pay thousands of Rand per Mpbs.

Sorry, you're not allowed to recommend other ISP in this thread, you'd need to start another one. I doubt you'll have any difference at the same/slightly higher price point though.

Thanks for the info.

However, I didn't ask anyone to post a recommendation here (as I am aware it is not on). Thus I asked for the person to PM me if they had a recommendation.

I don't have Real-Debrid but if there is anything on Kodi, Terrarium etc I can test for you you can PM me.

Thanks for your help. Can you maybe do some testing on non-RD links in Kodi and report back? For me - any RD link I try (new and old stuff), I get max 1mbps. To be honest, I haven't really tried the non-RD links. Just trying to see where the issue is.

Have just been told by vox that downloading and streaming get a lower priority (due to shady streaming sources). I would assume this does not apply to YT, Netflix, etc?
