Official Web Africa Hosting thread

Something is triggering it. Some times it is something small but nonetheless our accounts guys can check this for you quickly. Can you PM your account details so we can forward that over to them please? The account where the VPS was ordered.

I am excruciatingly displeased with the service I have receive from WebAfrica. I was extremely happy with JCW until you bought the company. I spent 30 minutes on the phone last week waiting for an answer from your billing department to find out why is it that I am being billed for domains I had purchased but only need for a year. My tickets #4227697,#5558981 and #5551569 have not been resolved. I finally got hold of the Billing department and told the lady that I don't need lots of the domains and do not understand why they are being renewed and my bill keeps piling. I realised that auto renew is on unlike in my JCW account that gave me the opportunity to have those responsible for the site pay without me loosing money by not auto renewing. I may not need to be called like I was by my previous provider but I do not need to be charged for domains of those that do not want to pay.

The lady I spoke to asked me for a list of the sites I do not need and I sent that list and still haven't received a reply or an updated invoice. I have spent a 7 days without access to my emails on my domain which you have charged me nearly double the previous fees for. I can't change packages, move domain, order, cancel or get any answers from you. I do not appreciate chatting to agents that do not complete a query on your live chat or not receiving assistance so much so that I had to call a friend just to upload a site.

Why are you trying to make me pay for things I don't want?

I'm still waiting for the web service guys to contact me regarding the proposal below. Apparently the sales agent that sent this mail is no longer with web hosting and was meant to refer me to someone.

Any reply on this?
Seems to have been conveniently ignored

It looks like spam. So that is probably why they ignored it. They also have their own sales team and advertising spend, so not sure what kind of value you can add to their company based off of this email, which, again, I can understand why they ignored it.

Hi All. Please excuse the late response on everyone's posts. I was looking at this on a daily basis and saw nothing new. Cleared the cache today and saw messages since Thursday. Nonetheless I apologize.

@Bino
With regards to the auto renewal function we have enabled on all clients' domains, emails are sent prior to any renewal which includes the domain in question saying that it will be renewed in X days. That is where the client can decide to log into their customer zone and turn it off before the renewals take place or leave it as is. We will check those ticket numbers out soon and request that the appropriate department responds.

@Tron
Can you please PM your customer code or email address listed on your account so we can check that out for you?

Nope.
Been dealing with that lady before.

Still waiting on your details hey Tron. We can find out what is happening there.

Received. Will be contacting the necessary people and revert back as soon as I can hey.

Thank you for your patience. Spoke to a few guys and one of them confirmed speaking to you.

I have been fighting with WA since the 4th of september about slow international fibre speeds.
I have a 100mbps line in Vorna Valley through Vuma
Why am i getting 92mbps download in SA and from the US is it 4mbps download today?

Am i missing something?

Why is this question not being answered?

Good morning Agent Q. May we request that you please PM your details so my colleague who assists with internet access related queries can take it further?

Hello Web Africans – hope you got the braai grill ready. South Africans celebrate Heritage Day by remembering our most diverse cultural background and celebrating it.
Please note that social media support will resume on Tuesday 26 September 2017. Feel free to email us @ [email protected] or kindly call us on 0860009500 – our team will gladly assist and are available for your support Mon-Sun from 6am to midnight. Thank you

So webafrica hosting is now becoming gridhost.

We had a reseller agreement with web africa which meant we did everything through one company. Now that is going to be split so should we not look at moving everything to a single company again? What is Gridhost service and support like?

Will our reseller agreement carry over to them as well?

Good morning Craig-C. WA acquired GH a few years ago but the names were still separate. With the "split" happening soon, nothing is going to change in terms of Hosting support. It is still the same guys you have been dealing with before. We will just be solely focused on these clients. We will have our own billing team as well so those who need to speak with them won't have to share the queue with internet access clients and vice versa. For hosting you will have one number and internet access will have its own as well. The agreement you have wrt to hosting shouldn't change.

What will happen to us affiliates? Will the current data move over to Gridhost? I have accounts with both Gridhost and Web Africa. Both with affiliate data.

*edit*

Also Web Africa Helper. I've currently got withdrawal requests at both Gridhost and Web Africa and nobody's replying to those tickets. It'll be great if you can have a look.

Will be happy to ask the others what will happen with the affiliate program and how it is going to work later on. Can you send me the ticket ID(s) so I can check those out please?

Thanks. Unfortunately I can't get to it here at work. Will send tonight. Gridhost came back to me. So it's just Web Africa that hasn't responded yet.

Understood. If you are sending it tonight then I'll see to it tomorrow morning hey.

For now, here is the information regarding the affiliates:

----------------------------------------------------
Affiliate Rewards Programme

If you take part in Webafrica's affiliate programme, we will move all your hosting affiliates over to our own, and much better, programme, by the 1st November 2017. Our affiliate programme will give you a higher commission structure of 15% per month on the service signed up for using your affiliate link. When we move you over all remaining reward balances will stay under your Webafrica account, which you are still able to cash out with them. Your new Gridhost affiliate account will start with a zero balance.
