Day_17: same old, same old, international down the crapper and then some.
 
Is after hours support a thing with Webafrica?
My connection went down yesterday and I couldn't get hold of anybody, got through today but your technician wanted to do something to my ports (it's been fine through two ISP's) and now, once again, nobody answers the phone or the Web app.

I'm not sure if they're screening numbers linked to the accounts or something. Two times now I phone like 7 times and no one picks up. Phone directly after from my wife's phone and they answer immediately.

Don't even bother using the web app. It just times out because no one answers you.

That aside, My line's been active for almost a week and I'm very happy with it so far.

The Router is also working very well. It's a TP-Link C20.

above tests, are the best ever recorded from a 'kakness' point of view. But according to WebAfrica, upstream provider says all is good, network is purring, more than enough capacity...

I feel your pain as I have this experience before with WA and it is deny deny deny until a few other people also report it.

I have a 40meg up and 20meg down openserve fibre connection trough you, it is a capped account.

But I am getting very slow upload speeds to some sites, more specifically Restream, restream is a service that allows you to do livestreams to multiple different video streaming services without needing extra bandwidth as they act as a man in the middle, I use Youtube and Twitch.

I have swapping my ISP or using a VPN fixes the problem, I have tested it with the Restream.IO speed test:

The effected servers are as follows, each one gets 1-2megs max:

Yep, the phone and the Web app is useless but the email does seems to work.

Also with a tp-link router. Yah a weekend of having 4 technicians trying to get me to reset my settings to what they currently are and a final Hail Mary pass smearing me off on Telkom. Which was supper effective since I just cancelled my Webafrica account and now applying for a Telkom account :(

(they changed a setting on their side, no positive difference)
 
So there have been complaints about the DSL console not working properly etc and WAHelper has said it is been looked into and being sorted.

Well today I DL over 20 gigs between 00:00 and 04:00 and this is reflected in my NetLimiter. I go and look at my DSL Console (which was last updated at 16:13 and it has allocated all of this to my normal Anytime use and not the free DL plus.

So in fact things have got worse and now it would seem that not only is it recording late but then allocating that date to the time it was recorded and not the time when the usage happened.

I trust that WA will sort this out as this is quite simply wrong
 
@HeftyCrab - can you please do a speedtest to UK and US tonight after 18h00?
What WA package are you on?

Thank you guys for keeping us informed.
@AIR - will ensure your technician in made aware of the latest update - my colleague has called last night and has updated a few results on the investigation - Tawfeeq will be in contact little later to discuss the findings and get this resolved asap.

@Fultron - will get the development guys on this - they reported that the console has improved and will be doing so on the hour - will report your results and ensure this gets sorted - simply becuase its unacceptable and this should have resolved over the weekend

Will update you the moment we receive information directly from the CTO that this is resolved - will personally go and have a chat to get a move on with this
