Spare a thought for his family...his parents must be going through hell.
My NY for 2009 has started very kark.
This morning, I woke up to find my flat full of cops.
Seems my next door neighbour died of overdose
This may sound cold and heartless, but gdiza, it didn't happen to *you*. It's not *your* problem. This incident is not an omen or a foreboding. Why should it mean that you will have a bad year? Who knows, 2009 could be one of the best years of your life! Just remember that.![]()

gdiza... don't you think you should find out what exactly happened - because people here are now assuming this person that you knew and possibly respected used drugs to get high and died because of it. What if it was a planned suicide? What if he was drunk and took medication and the combination didnt work out so well?
There are lots of possibilities that could have happened and from what i've read here people are quick to say "arrr... Druggie!"
For you to feel as bad as you do (which isnt your fault), you must have liked or respected this guy to some extent. Druggie or no druggie, you owe it to him to find out, to get the right story. If it so turns out he was just a druggie who popped 1 pill or line too many, it doesnt make him a bad person, just a person with a problem that none of you have the right to judge!
Lets get the facts right, then discuss the problem! Either way its sad that 2009 had to start like this!
So next time you lose a relative, don't feel sad, just remember it's natural selection.Natural selection, perhaps?
Harsh but true
OK, I get your point, it's just the "natural selection" theory that bothers me a bit. People today are getting older not because of good genes, but because of medical intervention. I feel that natural selection has, to some extent, been taken out of the equation by modern medicine. Who knows, maybe things like penicillin and bypass surgery are all part of nature's plan?I didn't say you don't feel sad ... it obviously hurts.
What else can you do?
