My NY for 2009 has started very kark.

This morning, I woke up to find my flat full of cops.

Seems my next door neighbour died of overdose

I live in a nice area!

Trust me, I am so shocked.

Drug overdose, sometime between 12 - 9 this morning :(

I chatted to the guy yesterday, the last thing I said to him was "have a lekker NY boet" :(

SUCKS MAN!!! :mad:

Yeah it happens. Good thing he didn't lie there for a week before someone found out he was missing. I had a friend who found his dead cousin in that position.

Either way, not a nice way to go. Yeah, don't do drugs.
 
The body is still in the flat.

The other cops have all left (there were like 20), there are 2 left here - guarding the body I guess.

My other neighbour is so sad and such, I dunno hey.
Just wish someone would take the body away :(
 
I can't honestly say I have *much* sympathy for him. Drugs, like drink driving, are completely avoidable if you have one ounce of common sense.

Unfortunately our young folks get entrapped into these things at a time when "common sense" is not yet developed sufficiently.
We all strive to teach them and protect them from these evils, but very often just one influential "friend" can put paid to all that in a day.

We still keep fighting for them even if they go astray.
 
Forensic people have just taken the body away.

*sigh*

This is NOT the NY I thought I was going to have.
My birthday thing is tomorrow and Mr was going to get a lift with us... ARG! :mad:

Weird thing is, last night, when we got back, I looked at the door and wanted to knock and wish 'whoever' was there happy new year, but I didn't... I should've... maybe I could've done something, helped in some way. :mad: at myself for not AT LEAST knocking :(
 
There's nothing you could have done. You really shouldn't beat yourself up like this. He was a drug addict. Not to sound harsh here but eventually your luck runs out. If he hadn't OD'ed last night he would have next week or a month from now.
 
Yip, I had a friend that OD'd. 2 weeks before this he had a heart attack, where the doc told him he's gonna drop dead if he kept it up. All at 24y old. He was my friend, but if you don't have common sense there's only so much your friends can do.

Theres only so much advice one can give. It actually up to the person receiving the advice to put it to use.
 
Sorry to hear Gdiza :( Hope the rest of the year will be better! In what area do you live if you dont mind me asking?
