OK, let's talk Cell C BIG BUCKS!

Or what if they have different groups for people that send a little/lot/average amount and then only choose from the top group!

My point is, are these things random or "calculated randomness" like slot machines

most computers dont have a true random number source, so its pseudo-random at best ... aka "calculated randomness"

I figured i would try this, they say that the more entries you have, the greater your chances are of winning but that doesn't mean a lower number will not be possible.

My idea, send 1 correct answer and hope for the best :D

And to answer my own question (CellC Rep is gone :p) , your points are not reset should you opt out. +1 there.

Cell_C how does one opt out of getting sms's for these competitions?

Oh look, a trivia SMS promotion.

I've received 18 of your daily animations so far Cell C (haven't played yet) and must say, your content could do with some work. Also, starting with the MSISDN? Kicking it old school man.

Cell_C how does one opt out of getting sms's for these competitions?
You don't, since Cell-C believe themselves to be absolved from the CPA (and don't let that bit on their web page regarding them to adhering to the CPA fool you either).

To opt out, SMS 'STOP' to 14700 or contact Customer Care by dialling 140. *DM*

Thanks.

I sent STOP to 14700 and straight away received:
Thank you for taking part in Cell C BigBucks. You currently have 100 points. To resume, send WIN to 14707. Hope to see you again soon!

Edit: There was no charge for this SMS; I still have the same topup airtime balance and all my inclusive SMS for the month.

Cell_C has assured me twice already that I have been removed from their SMS spam list, but I still receive them.

I get at least one a week. South Africa really need to start clamping down in Data Privacy. In Europe now you can take legal action against any company that spam you without you having manually opted in for communication from them. In SA our Private Data is sold to the highest corporate bidder.

Don't even get me started on the "Pre recorded phone calls" I now get. You cant even swear at the person!
