Is the basic income grant thing the same as the American welfare system?

If so, how the hell are people supposed to be motivated to get off their asses and earn a living if we GIVE them money every month?

I think so but it'd be a fairly small amount, R100 a month or so. Its true though, the more money and free services you give people the less likely they are to work.

It's fine, the 5% that are working will sponsor the other 95%. Easy see?

Just remember: the USA has an almost 0% long term unemployment rate. Unless these centres also encourage people to get jobs (withing 6 months, for example) this system won't work. You can't live on welfare forever. They should cut them off if they don't at least attempt to find jobs in a certain period.
 
Oh crap, I just noticed that Mabandla is on the Zuma NEC list, there goes my hopes of Zuma being charged.

A confusing one is Manto inclusion, the media has made her look like an Mbeki loyalist.

Mabandla the head of the NPA? Mbeki still controls those appointments so I suppose he could remove Mabandla and put someone else in that would prosecute. He did it with Pikoli.

Mabandla is the Minister of Justice, she has to be consulted by the NPA before charges are laid. I think the NPA has been stalled by her in as far as Selebi case is concerned.

Agree, she has stalled both cases, Selebi and Zuma, and removed the troublemakers that were pressing ahead with them.
She has hedged her bets.
 
Hey, I think I could let the Zuma thing slip if Selebi gets given the boot.

I think Zuma's problem is he see's all these friends wth big bucks and tries to keep up with the Joneses. Very difficult even on a Presidents salary. As such, gets himself in debt to his ears and needs to be rescued without ringing alarm bells. He is not the smartest man and has been manipulated by some devious "buddies". Lets hope he's learnt his lesson (then again my Jack Russell never seems to either).
 
ic is going to hold a victory dance when he sees that Ivy and Alec are being fired/napalmed.:D

They should have kept Trevor though.:(
