OLX Sale Concerns

Interesting how she uses the words item, package and gift and never referring to it as a laptop. If you're really buying something, you'd want to make it clear on the email what exactly you are buying

My scam senses are tingling!

Keep it local, good luck taking someone pretending to be someone else who's from overseas to court.
When there's a lot of money at stake, ask for a copy of their ID (if they take too long, drop out). Most scammers are amateurs, and won't have an ID the corresponds with name of the email. If the buyer is legit, might ask for your ID too, if someone blindly trusts you drop out.

Real buyers also don't have long stories.

Hehe: Just for interest sake, I did a Google for "I want to buy this item for my daughter and i want you to ship this item directly to my daughter who is currently on an agricultural project in Nigeria she was posted there some months ago".

4.4 mil results of scams / fraud / etc, etc. ...

Lol, I read "OLX Sale Concerns" and thought "It's a SCAM!". This is pretty much the textbook nigerian scam for olx/gumtree/wherever else there are classifieds.

That's because you didn't put it in quotes. Only 2 results in quotes.

Naah, if I put it in quotes I get 643 results ... see:

"I" "want" "to" "buy" "this" "item" "for" "my" "daughter" "and" "i" "want" "you" "to" "ship" "this" "item" "directly" "to" "my" "daughter" "who" "is" "currently" "on" "an" "agricultural" "project" "in" "Nigeria" "she" "was" "posted" "there" "some" "months" "ago"

I didn't even have to read through half of the response to realize it's a scam. Avoid.

Lulz, reading that OP - the voice in my head switched from mine to a Nigerian accent by the 2nd line of Veronica's correspondence :D

I'm away on business.....

Can you ship I will pay.....

I haven't even asked a single question about the item but I will hand over a ton for shipping...

Anyways, they won't steal your bank info, they will go to an atm and deposit a fake cheque, your account then shows you got a payment. They now want you to ship before it clears.

Send your bank details, let him do payment, tell him you'll confirm with bank if payment is sorted and then wait for a few days.
