Oly E620?

I really dont understand why Flashes are so damn expensive though. I have to flashes for my OM1 that still work perfectly, But they dont work with the E620 :(

You really want to avoid putting the old film-era flashes on a new DSLR

As I understand it, the biggest problem with the older flashes is the trigger voltage. You could end up damaging the circuitry of the camera, so unless it's made specifically by Oly for the purpose you want, I would be wary :(

Correct, you can fry your camera. I've seen it done! Most modern cameras like the trigger voltage to be some figure below 10V. Many old flashes had a trigger voltage of well over 100V. Here's a page with some compatibility info.

I'm very glad I read about this before I bought my old man a DSLR body. His Sunpak Auto Zoom 3000 is listed as 246V...

Thanks :) I'll look at it now, I've been waiting for ages for DP to put thier review up as well, so I guess a preview would be nice. Hell, Olympus still dont even have the camera lists on their website, At least if you go to accessories and try to find things, its no where to be found
