One Year On - Solar Installation

Our little 3kVa Victron inverter went in to thermal overload protection yesterday shutting down AC supply for a minute or two  Admittedly, it was hot in the garage it is in and I told our nanny that despite there not being any mains supply she could run the dishwasher. Oops!

Yeah, every time you wash your hands with the mixer in the middle you using hot water without the hot water ever getting to the tap as it takes time to travel from the geyser and to heat the pipes.

This...

The dumbstruck look I get when I ask my wife or the domestic worker or nanny why they keep switching the gas geyser on when they don't want hot water

Ouch, though it shouldn't be getting that hot? I have mine in my study so I can also monitor it.

What temp did it do this at?

I now understand this...

Got the same issue; but I don't really care enough to mention it to the wife.

My inverter gets to 80c most days for a few hours (peak PV times)
Mine has also gotten that high but that was before i put a cooling fan underneath - now tops out around 68c

I haven't checked what temperature it gets to but the garage gets to around 30 Deg C and running the dishwasher with no CityPower supply is most likely at the limits of the inverter.

Sho! Didn't know these inverters were running that hot :unsure:

Wanted to ask if anyone had any experience with those REVOV Cube Stations? Especially the one with a SunSunk 6kw hybrid installed with all the bells and whistles?

We moved house last weekend so the ESS has been 'offline' since Saturday, doing it's own thing without any monitoring or adjusting. I went past the house earlier today to see how to connect to the Venus GX control unit so when my BIL moves in and sets up his network we can connect to his WiFi. I managed to get to the Remote Console and had a look at a few things, mostly to check that everything was OK and surprisingly found this...

It is a record for PV production from the two little arrays, there is minimal 'normal' load but the house is being painted so lights are on during the day, some tools, a vacuum cleaner, etc.
