OnePlus 11

I'm itching for the 11R with that IR Blaster and alert slider.

But seems like most reviewers aren't too comfortable with the software. Basic things like notification tray is in a mess.

As much as I like Oneplus and as good as the 11 is, I would take a Xiaomi 13 Pro over it... similar price point...
I would also opt for the Xiaomi 13 Pro. I currently have a OnePlus 8 Pro and I really do like it, but the 11 just doesn't look as good as the Xiaomi 13 Pro.

The Xiaomi 13 starts from 999 euros and the 13 Pro starts from 1299 Euros...wonder what that the prices are going to be like locally...when it does eventually launch...

OnePlus unveils OnePlus 11 Concept phone with Active CryoFlux (hands-on)

OnePlus today unveiled its OnePlus 11 Concept smartphone, which the company had been teasing for the past few weeks. The device, not meant to hit production, is designed to showcase the company's new Active CryoFlux cooling solution.

Active CryoFlux is a fancy term for what is essentially a closed-loop liquid cooling system the sort you'd find on a desktop PC but miniaturized greatly for a smartphone.

At the heart of the system is a ceramic piezoelectric micropump, which circulates fluid through a series of tubes between an upper and lower diaphragm. The micropump takes up less than 0.2cm² of space on the device. The pump circulates the fluid, which moves around the tubing that acts as a heat sink and radiator, absorbing heat from the SoC and releasing it slowly over the course of its run back to the pump.

OnePlus claims that the Active Cryoflux can reduce temperatures up to 2.1°C, good for another 3-4FPS in a game. During charging, the temperatures can be down by 1.6°C, shaving off 30-45 seconds from the charging time.

The rest of the features are mostly cosmetic. OnePlus has used a curved, transparent glass for the back cover, which the company claims is unibody even though there clearly is a frame along the sides. The back cover lets you see the tubing underneath, which has been partially illuminated. The area around the camera has also been illuminated and the camera has a new Guilloche etching pattern.

Wondering if Oneplus will be (officially) launching locally soon. I see when going to the Oneplus website it now picks up as Oneplus (South Africa)

And also see, when checking under service center, they have SSS Cellular, in Boksburg, listed as service center

Any one heard or seen anything to confirm?

OnePlus 11 to receive 4 major Android updates, 5 years of security patches

OnePlus' president for the Chinese market Li Jie confirmed that the OnePlus 11, Ace 2 and Ace 2V smartphones would receive 4 major Android updates and 5 years of security patches. That means the OnePlus 11 will be eligible for the future Android 17.

That puts OnePlus alongside Samsung and Google with the longest support for its flagship models. But keep in mind that the information comes from OnePlus' president of the Chinese arm. So we still need to hear something official from the global OnePlus representatives.

OnePlus 11 Limited Jupiter Rock Edition announced

The OnePlus 11 arrived in early December, followed by a global release in February. The phone was launched in two colors, Black and Green, and today it gets a third option that is by far the best-looking of the three.

The unique edition is called Jupiter Rock and is designed after the surface of the biggest planet in our Solar System. Each unit has a different pattern, developed with a material that OnePlus calls “3D microcrystalline rock” with a fine sparkle under as the light hits it.

Oneplus ZA site is live. Still no option to buy, but a step in the right direction.

https://www.oneplus.com/za

I had a Oneplus 1 and loved it until it just got too old.

Would be great to be able to buy locally at a more affordable price. Also, some of my imported Pixel 6 functions are limited just because the networks don't support them. I'm guessing something similar might be the case for imported Oneplus phones.

Great news!! Looking forward to the brand getting more love within ZA. Hell, just getting a new battery installed, for my 7T Pro, from an accredited Oneplus service centre would be massive progress.

30 months in and this phone is still very relevant and an absolute pleasure to use but the battery is taking a pounding...

Would also like a little more support and accessories available for my Oneplus 8 Pro. It's been a great phone, but I need a new cover :D lol

+1 - or should that be 1+? :D

I bought my 7T in Oct '19, still going strong, but the battery not lasting as long as it used to

Have a look at this link below:

Someone call them quick and get a quote on a replacement battery. 10 to 1 they don't stock batteries for the 7t Pro.

Sorry the cynic in me.

The cynic in me also doesn't trust that they'll replace the battery without scratching something. Screenshot_2023-06-12-16-26-46-11_40deb401b9ffe8e1df2f1cc5ba480b12.jpg

So I caved and called them.

Not only can't they do the 7t Pro but they can't do any OnePlus devices.

No spares at all and they apparently waiting for some or other comms from OnePlus themselves re parts etc.

How long they been waiting? Over a year.

Sigh....
