Good news for those with touchscreen issues:
So far it looks like the only people with definite hardware screen issues have the tpk touch panel. To find your manufacturer do the below. NO ROOT NEEDED, just a terminal emulator from the play store:

On a terminal app or an adb shell, do:

Code: cat /sys/class/input/input0/vendor_id

And post your code in the official OnePlus thread linked below.

TP vendor codes being:

1 = WINTEK

2 = TPK

3 = TRULY

4 = YOUNGFAST

The good news being that there is a new driver which seems to fix touchscreen issues:

Can't wait to test myself!

Can I do this if I'm not rooted?

Apologies, I didnt see @fastesthamster post, only saw @brucem follow up. So I meant do I need to root in order to install the new driver that fixes the touch screen issue.

Installed Franco kernel with the new touchscreen firmware and all my problems are gone. It's like having a new phone.

CyanogenMod forced to pull OnePlus One’s touchscreen fix

CyanogenMod recently rolled out a new “nightly” update for the OnePlus One that promised to fix a common multi-touch issue, but the release has already been pulled. Those who installed it experienced excessive battery drain even while the device was asleep.

Because this was a nightly release — not an official over-the-air update from OnePlus — only a small number of One owners will have installed it. Nevertheless, it’s disappointing news for those who were planning to apply the update manually for its touchscreen fix — and those who now have to downgrade to an earlier release to save their battery life.

It’s thought the issue is related to new touchscreen firmware from Synaptics, which is causing battery drain even while the One isn’t in use. Of course, Cyanogen is working with Synaptics to fix the problem, so there will be a replacement update — but it’s unclear right now when that might be available.

For now, however, it’s best not to upgrade to this CyanogenMod nightly — even if you can find it elsewhere. While the touchscreen fix may be nice if you’re having multi-touch problems, it’s no good if your One can no longer last a full day in between charges.

Just tried this (enabled terminal from Dev Options)

I've got a TPK, though I've not had any real problems with screen responsiveness.. Just thought I'd check anyway. Hoping it stays that way and that whatever fix filters down to the next stable update doesn't break mine!

I'm having a bit of an issue at the moment. My notifications (specifically SMS) come through ridiculously loud and changing the volume of notifications doesn't make a difference. Anyone else have this problem?

CM 12.0-YNG1TAS17L.

Only started a couple of days ago, though. Dunno wtf.
Is that a stable release? I moved to CM 12.1 quite a while ago, although I don't remember many issues with CM 12 when I ran it.

Yeah, it's the official OTA update. I don't understand why it suddenly starting doing this, though, cos it was working fine before. It's bloody annoying.

Do you have a recovery installed? You could always try clearing the cache and dalvic cache. Also, install an audio manager and see if one of the volume sliders isn't out of position.

Nah, don't have a recovery installed. Will fiddle around a bit, thanks.

Official update apparently fixes bluetooth and touchscreen issues:
http://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/3a8uk2/new_cyanogen_os_12_build_for_the_oneplus_one/

You can download the incremental from here:
http://builds.cyngn.com/fota/incremental/bacon/cm-bacon-e816218e8a-to-30bd462d41-signed.zip

It is signed so you can boot into stock recovery (Reboot, Volume down + Power button) and apply update. I am running stock firmware. I have only just applied the update, so can't comment on whether my issues are solved, but so far so good.

What happened?

I dropped mine from about 1.2m. Landed on the frikken claw of a hammer! [:wtf: I know...]

Glass shield was smashed- spider-webbed across most of its surface area (disperses shock I guess?).

Phone screen underneath that was 100%. Brilliant :D

I RMA's that phone for battery problems- it was a Ver1 phone.

The replacement I got was Ver3, and it came with a screen protector, but not tempered glass. Swapped that out pronto!
