I have used both Zenni and Lensmart... basically ships directly from China. Zenni used post office, Lensmart used Buffalo (ala Temu), delivered to my office and 2 pairs of glasses here in under a month. Cost me $90 for 2 pairs of prescription glasses.

Haven’t tried LensMart as yet. I’ll give them a shot if they use Buffalo.

Hi all, going to order a pair this week. I previously ordered from Zenni a few years back and had a great experience. What's the best online site to order from these days

LensMart seems very popular albeit I haven't tried them as yet

A bigger cry for me, and I refused the tint. The thinning added over R3K for me. Don't know if the antiglare was free, maybe I was a schmuck. I have been going there for 27 years, 19 years on contact lenses, and last took a pair of glasses in 2017 since it was just a weekend pair.

Last year I took reading glasses designed for use over the contacts, since reading distance plunged. But I was then wearing glasses all the time in the office and moving it down the bridge of the nose in order to use the contacts for regular sight. Reading glasses came to R900 with the antiglare. So why did I get screwed 13 times over? For the multifocals I did get upsold on the wider zones which cost extra, and for another R2000 I could have taken an even wider zone...

Yeah a real schmuck.

Anyone ordered glass's lately? Also need a decent optomotrist in JHB that aren't going to charge R1000 for a script. Seems they've noticed that we just want the scripts for Zenni and Lensmart so are increasing costs in other places. I'm in JHB North but happy to drive a bit :)

Go to Torga or any of those, they'll not charge that much.

Where you thinking of ordering from?
Family member needs a new pair

The problem with online glasses is that they don’t get the measurements right.
Even optometrists don’t get it right unless they take the time to physically measure the glasses to your face.
If you are lucky your eyes don’t deteriorate with age but if you’re unlucky you get glasses that are not quite right and aid in that deterioration.

You can measure it yourself.
You’re right.

But for anyone else that wants a good set of glasses, having the frames set on your face and physically measuring where your pupils sit in relation to the glasses, distance between pupils as well as distance to the lense, a good optometrist is worth the fee.
