It is the case though, it's happened to me a few times. Personally had 20k confiscated by the SARB. Banks have even blocked deposits to unlicensed sites. Fortunately, these days the licensed SA online sites have 99% of what the offshore ones have product wise, so there is no real need to use offshore based sites.

Had it never happened to me, I was completely unaware of the possibility! Jho I would be bleak hey!
