Online Psychological Support Group

A support group in and of itself, is not going to necessarily be helpful, I don't think.

A network that offers tools, practical advice and resources on the other hand, certainly could be.

An immediate example that comes to mind is educating people about medical aids and their obligation to cover certain conditions. I had to fight with mine for months, to get them to cover therapy that I would otherwise simply not have been able to afford. Of course, this sort of thing doesn't help those that need help the most, as medical aid is a luxury few can afford. So we need to assist people with very limited resources on where they can turn for help, etc.

OP - Did you see the link I posted to this thread? I'm sure some of the conversations therein might be relevant to some of your queries.
 
Good Day, and thank you to all who have answered the questions in response to the online platform that we are thinking of creating as part of the intervention. We are in the process of compiling together people's ideas and perceptions around the topic. I will be happy to let anyone know (that is interested) of the outcome and if the forum will in fact be created for those that need it.

It is a field I have been interested in for a while, I just wasn't sure of the particular area in psychology that I wanted to study. Community Psychology seems like the best idea, considering the need for it in countries such as South Africa.
 
Forums are still heavily male skewed/dominated, it's like a faqing sausagefest/dogs on heat around here any time a lady appears on the scene who's bold enough to use her real name/or show pics and is not bad looking...

Anastasia, here, the lunatics have taken over the asylum. So I don't think you will get much help here. At best they will troll and lure you in. I did a degree in psychology and some of these people are beyond help. Seriously. Come back when you need to do an assignment on antisocial disorders.
