Hi Anastasia
I have a feeling that for an intellectual and helpful discussion, MyBB is not the place to be. While here is enough potential "patients", the general culture here is more focused on acts of trolling and debates that sound more like a kindergarten fight than an intellectual discussion. Though you may be able to find a few diamonds in the rough...
As for myself, I had extreme social anxiety (eg. measured my heart rate at 160 at a family gathering) and while not diagnosed, I'm pretty sure a degree of aspergers. In my case, I never saw much use of talk therapy in the traditional sense. I prefer to work though things in my own way, at my own rate and to gain understanding of the problem itself and it's bigger sphere of influence. Though it may have been handy to share it with someone, more to get my thoughts in order and to discuss what I'm busy with. The biggest issue is that anyone in a professional position will have to be very open minded towards me trying new things.
While I have fixed the acute anxiety, getting an EEG unit and doing neurofeedback and meditation opened a whole new dimension. Seeing responses on screen and analyzing them is giving a lot of insight, because you can't bull**** yourself. Strange when you start noticing a low level anxiety you did not even acknowledged in the beginning.
