Hi, well im thinking of signing up with opencourier for next month, but i would like to know if there are any bugs that can effect you badly and what are the speeds, or how long it will take opencouier to download an international file to there server?

Thanks in advance :)

It seems to still have a few bugs as it is in the beta stages afaik. I have been waiting for some files to be downloaded for the whole day and queued a file yesturday but the server still doesn't have it. I'm not sure if it's the new client I'm using or if the server is just very busy but it's been taking a while. When I just signed up a few days ago and queued a file it was quite fast and responsive but now it's just taking damn long. I downloaded a file that was 20mb or so and when I got it, it was corrupted :( Speeds downloading from server is good but I can't really judge it as I'm on 192k and speeds are generally slow.

But like I said it's still in the beta stage and can't be reviewed before it's out of beta as there are always bugs in any beta.

i registered for a opencourier trail account the other day, and just tested it now, i downloaded a file on to the system and now downloading it to my pc, i normally get a minimun of 100kb/s downloads to my pc, but download from opencourier i can only get a max of 8kb/s?

Mrbeep can you help me please?

Hey Friends,

OpenCourier is still very new, and still in Beta, so some bugs do still exist. However, we have indeed fixed many of them.

Re: Download speed.

We have made some significant changes to our infrastructure this afternoon.

Currently, download speeds wont be higher than 512k per user, as we have implemented this limit to share speed equally betweem all users.

If you have any bugs to report, or any queries, please mail me on: [email protected]

Kind regards
MrBEEP

I am just wondering, will the speed of a download to my pc limit ever increase?

It will eventually yes.

We will however use the said limit for now.

Ok it seems like the problem has been fixed on a new cleint. I can now download files again. YAY. I am sure that this will be very nice once it is out of beta. Very interesting idea indeed from openweb. Well done :D

Thx bro.

Soon we will be integrating Torrent downloads into the service ;)

I am sure that will be well received.

Mrbeep: about this speed limit, will it increase by the begining of august, if so by whats speeds?

Thanks

Unmfortunately not bro.

512k per client will stay in place until further notice.

Erm, but the maxium speed i could get on the opencourier was about 8kb/s on my 1024k line, using internet download manger, which can get me up to 120kb/s on a http download?

I was actually wanting to ask about torrent integration. That will make it very interesting and I think you will be needing a lot more servers and internet connections ;)

Just wondering, are you going to keep the files on the server so that only one download is needed from international servers. Also will these files be browsable in any way? This could make for a very interesting file server too ;)

As I said earlier, we made changes to our infrastructure today to fix up that problem, and it should now be sorted.

Please try again.

No need to be rude or anything, but i could get my download working now, so it could of just been down or sumthing last night. Now i can get about 25kb/s, i thought the limit was about 50kb/s?

Help mrbeep?

Hey Bro,

I will look into that for you.

Please remember, the service is younger than a week. So these problems are bound to popup.

Kind regards
MrBEEP
