Opening a dstv sd sv remote control?

Hi all.
I need to open my sd remote 'coz one of my buttons is getting sticky and has to be pressed extra hard to get it to activate. . I already noticed the screw when you remove the batteries and loosenend it.
Tried shoving a knife between the 2 halves, but I'm scared I'll break it.

Anyone ever opened one or know how to do it?

You are doing it right, just has that one screw. Try loosen all 4 sides a little before trying to pop it open

I did, but almost lost a finger, so you reckon more force then.

I suppose so, when I opened mine up the plastic ended up quite bumpy from screwdriver pressure

Don't use a screw driver use a plastic knife. I used these tools I bought with some parts to repair one of my iPods a couple years ago. They have proved incredibly usefull. The clips go toward the front, so starting at the (open) battery compartment, force the plastic knife into the gap and start un-clipping the face. Move around the remote on both sides to the front.
