Mind telling me why?JET@WORK said:Make sure you dont make open office your default office program while using msoffice You will be sorry. Does anybody know where and when edubuntu will be available for download.
I tried the IS one last night but it was so incredibly slow I ended up using one from the US that flew. Is this due to the SAIX-IS peering problems?DFantom said:IS
74Mb on 384kbs = 17min but you won't get that speed. I would say less than an hour

I only ask cos I did a clean windoze install over the weekend and havent had the time to reload MS Office - I like the looks of OpenOffice so much that I might forgo installing MS altogether.
The SAIX directory is empty. Dolts.mikef said:Thanks - I tried IS but started off very slowly. Saix returned error
Final download from openoffice.ugm.ac.id +- 20 minutes
Thanks for the heads up - I'll hold off loading MS Office for a while. Hopefully they'll update the OsX version soon.JET@WORK said:I am using a pc that has open office and Ms Office... although MS office is my default program...as a soon as i open an app in Open office... it automatically takes over and opens everydocument using Open office this can be annoying as it keeps telling me about data loss and formating and Stuff. If you are only using Open office then its fine... well that was before version 2. if you plan on using Ms Office.. make sure you never make open office your default program. I will give open office 2 a test drive tonite and i will see from there...
Could be. Also IS sometimes throttles the FTP connections for non IS clients so it may have been that. I pulled both the windows and linux versions from IS on Sentech in about 45min.bwana v.5 said:Is this due to the SAIX-IS peering problems?
i think this is because one is given the choice during setup to automatically open .doc, .xls and .ppt files with openoffice. at least it does if you use the "custom" install option - not sure if it prompts you if you choose the "typical" optionJET@WORK said:I am using a pc that has open office and Ms Office... although MS office is my default program...as a soon as i open an app in Open office... it automatically takes over and opens everydocument using Open office this can be annoying as it keeps telling me about data loss and formating and Stuff.
