Openserve - Afrihost double speed promotion.

Hello

Please note that in the mail received in January confirming the promo extension, it was communicated that all downgrades to clients initial speed will be processed on the 23rd of this month.
Never got this mail, though I did get the package change email yesterday. Ended up manually downgrading.

This "promotion" has been a huge pain for me, so much confusion trying to just stick with I have. It's just a yearly trick to try move people onto more expensive packages.

I am on I am on the 25/25 Fiber package, according to your client zone, however according to your email I am on the 50/50 package (currently paying R827.00 PM), ok its a promotion I understand.

I phone in to down grade my package cause its a waste of money for me to be upgraded to 75/75 from the 1st of April, I don't need such high speed, and cash is tight. They say they can't change the package for me, I have to do it client zone. From 1st of April I wish to be on the 40/40 package at R647 per month. They say to automatically change to to the 40/40 package from the 1st of April, I must change to the 25/25 package. I can't change to it because that package I am already on it. The consults said she can't do anything, but wait until the 1st of April and change. By then I will be billed for the more epxensive 75/75 package.

So in summary I need to change to 25/25 package to download grade my package, but I am already on it, and I must just wait until I am charged more.

Client Zone: (Can't change to 25/25 cause thats what I am on):

Email (will automatically go to 75/75), but should be going to 40/40:

Now I am totally confused. Why would you be charged more? If you're on the 25/25 package currently you'll automatically be converted to 40/40. Why are you wanting to complicate things?

Yes you are confused. Added some pics to help you understand, read the post again. Afrihost system does not work the way they say it does.

Well I get charged the email Prices, R827, so no I will not ignore the email. I posted in the hopes to get a response from an Afrihost representitive, cheers.
On your bank statement, was your last charge R827 or R597?

Are you able to do a speedtest quick, I'm curious about something.
Getting about 100MPS down, 50MPS up. The issue is I want to be on a lower package, but can't because it says I am on a lower package already. I currently pay for a faster package and get fast internet, but I don't need it.

If you're getting 100/50 then you are currently on the 50/50 package (Openserve has doubled everyone's speed).

Okay, I would like to be on the 25/25 package, but I can't change it in the client zone cause it says Im on that already. No response from afrihost across a few channels.

Ignore the email. It is obviously a bug.
I have called them 3 times, gotten 3 different answers and also received 2 different incorrect invoices for the month. They've screwed something up bigtime. I am (was/should be) on a 35/25 line, but get charged for a 50/50.

Client Zone still shows 35/25

Unable to change and not willing to send out a mail to clients saying "we are experiencing a problem and are working on fixing it". No its better to piss your clients off and inundate your call center with calls

So I was on the openserve 100/50 package, would have had to wait till 1st April for the upgrade to 150/75.

Went into the afrihost client zone and selected upgrade, the options are all already configured for the new packages, so selected 150 /75.. A few minutes later and the speed upgrade completed successfully.

So anyone wanting the upgrade sooner rather than later can force it in this manner.

Was there any change to your billing?

I'm currently on 100/50, and paying R947pm. To "upgrade" it quotes me R50, so my monthly installment will be R997pm going forward. As far as I know, the speed upgrades shouldn't cost anything more?

Also my speedtests consistently now are around 100/75, so not sure why upload has been bumped to new package but download has not...

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic maybe comment?

Hi.
Upgrades are immediate. As soon as it is completed, you will be charged pro rata. The monthly subscription for 150/75 Mbps is R997.
