I've decided to maybe approach Openserve since their prices are now matching Vumatels pricing and since Vumatel hasn't even done any planning for my area.

Does anyone know what Openserves threshold is for how many houses need to show their interest before considering to lay fibre ?

Presumably a similar number to Vumatel, or any other provider for that matter.

Have you reached the required threshold for Vumatel yet? No-one is going to do any planning unless there is, at the very least, a strong indication that the threshold (as far as I understand somewhere between 1/2 and 2/3rds of a neighbourhood) will be reached in the foreseeable future.

That's the problem, I have reached out to vumatel to give me the exact number of houses that need to show their interests, Their response was "planning is not done as yet".

When you go onto their site, is your area coloured any shade of pink at all? Have you registered interest on their site?

Nope it's not pink at all and yes I have registered (I think i'm the only one). Even my house doesn't show pink although i have registered( there's a pink shade if you registered)

Yes your house won't show up as pink, only the area. My guess is that there simply haven't been enough people in your area that have shown interest to make a blip on their radar. Try to get as many people as possible register their interest as well.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the provider will need to make their money back. If it's only you in the area that's interested, that's not going to happen, so they won't roll out there.

Vumatel is probably still your best bet, purely because of how easy it is for people to show their interest (as well as their website's (albeit limited) support to indicate the trend). Any other provider, you will still need to get the interest from your neighbourhood, but you'll most likely need to have people sign a physical paper in order to proof to the provider that the business case exist.
