Why would you want to pay for torrents?

Its not the necessarily the torrents im willing to pay for but Mr Beeps soon to be launched Open Torrent service stated on his website.

Sounds a proxy based service like Openbrowse.

Only thing id like to know is whether it'll be on IS network and whether it'll effectively give you xgig minus your cap local and international. I hope its on IS.

Either way the idea sounds cool and coupled with his openbrowse service it seems more like the adsl service we should be getting.

Only hope its not to pricey though.:)

Once again we have a "know it all" amongst us! Your negativity inspires me... (sarcasm should be noted)

nothing you say will ever be inspirational. you are just a very negative person. yawn...

It wasn't meant to be inspirational.

That hurt, deeply.

Can't you just stick to the original topic? I merely asked why someone would want to pay for torrents when there are 3 local torrent sites that I know of, all of which are free anyway.

Yes there might very well be 3 local free torrent sites, but they are by invite only.

For an average user like myself it is impossible to get on there.

Prove me wrong !

lol! I agree MyDraadloos! Only Telkom people can get into those sites!

What do Telkom employees have to do with local torrents?

MyDraadloos, check your PM.

with you being such a Telkom fan, why don't you tell us?

It would be great! that would totally kill telkom shaping, because traffic would be http!

Mr Beep keep us posted on this!

One remark though, pricing, i mean you get some 70mb torrents and then 4gig. Storage and transfer would obviously play a big role, to find the balance between price, features and flexibility would be the determining factor!

Hi bro, OpenTorrents site is down still, i cant seem to get on :(, what is the prob, please reply?

Although the torrent sites are invite only DC++ is completely open, check http://hub.za.net/ for some info!

Also ppl there are more trusting and you should be able to net yourself a invite to one of the local torrent sites. Well atleast after a while, just keep asking ;)

In terms of quality they're pretty good (not on the level of the leading torrent site in sa (we all know ninja is the best :D), but good non the less). At least last I checked

Ugh, DC++. Minimum Share Ratio's, Slots, Self-Important Ops and Mods, Slow Speeds. No thanks. So glad I got outta that ages ago.

BTech, eDonkey is even worse...

Torrents are by far the best. And in light of the recent high-cap events, why not push your account to the max with international torrents, and help SA out ;)

MrBeep have come through on many fronts, and I dig that.

Hope this Opentorrent will allow me to download intl to my heart's content !

Go Beep !
