Hi all,

Is there an option to create a "Xtraview" type setup with 2 OVHD decoders?
I cannot find any docs on this... I basically want to hook up another decoder in the old lady's flat outside, so that we can all watch OVHD on two different TV's and not have to worry about channel changes etc. We have an existing setup with 1 decoder - I just want to extend it to include another another TV and decoder.

Thanks!!!

You dont get xtraview on OVHD - TBH you dont need an xtraview setup on OVHD - xtraview is sharing 1 subscription on dstv instead of having to pay a full subscription, you just pay an acces fee for the 2nd decoder,
OVHD is free no subscription so just buy another decoder and hook it up to the dish (either a second dish or one using a twin or quad lnb) you might need to activate that decoder with another cellphone number though

Thanks Isie.

Well aware of what Xtraview is - was just trying to put it into context... Ok - so that means more cables from the dish (so it seems).
Thanks for your reply!

There are a number of ways. Extend RF, AV, or, HDMI to a remote TV location.
Or, simply install a second or more OVHD decoders at the remote TV points, each with its own feed from a satellite antenna. The LNB required as a minimum is a TWIN, QUAD or more universal LNB. An existing dsTV SLNB with multiple universal or Unicable ports will also work.
As there is no subscription involved, there are no usage restrictions at all.
The RF, AV, or HDMI extensions from one decoder will not allow for independent viewing. Approach SPACE TV or HDCABLING for available solutions. The best would be HDMI extenders if the TVs involved are HD TVs. The other two methods will only provide SD quality at the remote viewing points. Remote control becomes an issue with all of the extension solutions from one decoder. The decoders are not as sophisticated as the DStv ones.
