OpenView HD subscriber numbers skyrocket

To date I know of no one that has this. Maybe I need to broaden my circles...
I toyed with the idea of getting a OV decoder when Game had them on special as they're supposed use DSTV dish settings but never got around to it.

I have one but it was just to get a clear picture if anyone wanted to watch tv. I seldom watch tv (since I make good use of my ADSL) and the eTV movie channel that I've seen on the odd occasion isn't too bad.

and ??? worth it ?
Well. There are no subscription fees, so yeah... A few halfway decent channels for free is not bad. It's better than nothing. The movies channel is slightly older stuff, but the kids cartoon channel and the science channel are actually pretty good.

The fact that they're still referring to Top TV means that the FAQs haven't been updated for a long time ; things might've changed re DSTV since this was written ? :

What if I already have a satellite dish?

If you already have a Top TV dish (sure they now mean http://starsat.co.za/packages), you don't need to get a new dish. You will only need to buy an OpenView HD Digital Decoder which you can plug in and play. If you are struggling with this you can call the distributors' call centres.

If you have any other satellite dish that you no longer use – a registered OpenView HD installer can be allocated to reposition your dish. Please call the distributors call centres.

Hmm, I had it wrong, guess my DSTV dish will just continue to be an ornament until they release a premium package sans sport for R99/mth :D

Ovhd works on dstv dishes as well afaik. That faq is ancient.

Not as far as I'm aware. Just last week I contacted Makro and was told they no longer stock it. I also don't see it in their online catalog.
Oh OK. Must be a recent thing. I wonder if Multichoice put the squeeze on them?

I have this since last year, it's alot better than just SABC. However the repeats are alot worse than DSTV.. especially on the ekurhuleni channel. Don't even watch tv, was just bought to have something extra other than SABC and E
