Your maximum ping was 17ms

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be running perfectly :-)
It seems that your maximum ping is also good. If there are any issues, they most probably lie with your ISP :-(

Which is a safe strategy :D

It's just that, and I don't know if it's just me but I have had a taste of what the internet should be like, and when I didn't get it, I didn't hang around, and am not scared to try other options.

Life's too short anyway ;)

CABLEGUY

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ANY WORK TODAY AT ALL WHEN YOU ARE SHAPING / THROTTLING (IDGAF ABOUT WHATEVER NOMENCLATURE YOU USE) MY HTTP DOWNLOADS TO 3.3% OF MY LINE SPEED?

IT'S TAKING ME OVER AN HOUR TO DOWNLOAD ONE ACADEMIC JOURNAL

SERIOUSLY YOU AND YOUR COMPANY CAN SUCK BIG DONKEY BALLS, YOU ARE PATHETIC.

Usually I would tell the poster not to shout, but in this case I'm shouting with you :)

Seriously, Openweb is a joke today.,.. I'm on my Afrihost acount atm, working perfectly at full line speed as usual.

Until I see independent, conclusive and non optimized tests I will not think otherwise. Its the same **** re-branded like mweb's so called normal, premium and small business.

Its very clear that some form shenanigans is at work here...

There are many IS resellers and they are all the same - bar OW.

I wonder why that is and why they're so special and why no one else is doing what they're doing? ;)

IMO, us MYbb'ers are the minority, and no matter what we say, it doesn't really have any effect on the big picture and the ISP's know this. They also know how "thick" the average user is when it comes to technical things, enabling them to get away with murder.

I'm just glad I had the intelligence to notice when I wasn't getting what I was supposed to, and after 6 account run around, AH finally relaunched their uncapped (IS) and moved in a flash as I never blamed IS for my issues, I blamed weird accounts with random peoples names (which was explained to me that the names are randomly generated) - whatever, pull the other one, if they were, why didn't the account just keep on working? It's not that I ever abused it, just randomly stopped working, out of every single ISP in SA, only OW had this phenomenon - coincidence?

“Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.”
Arthur Conan Doyle, Sr. quotes (Scottish writer, creator of the detective Sherlock Holmes, 1859-1930)

I can't say I know what's so so called about MWEB's different packages. Perhaps you are referring to the difference between Premium and Business being so minor, if anything at all? Great for the customer who prefers quality over quantity. Same price, too. Too vastly different to compare with OW.

not down for me, the site loads ok, just authentication doesn't work when i put in my Openweb username/password. Was just wondering, as people have indicated that it used to work before. I know they asked IS to block Openweb users from their stats site, looks like they've done the same with SAIX now.

Working here. :)

Vote with your wallets, it really isn't a schlep to change ISPs.

By the way, I PM'd rpm about this a while ago when we had the account sharing and other items going on here, he said he'll look into it. Since OW is a friend of this forum you won't see it taken further, or any front page articles.

I would beg to differ on the quality point and a few other things, but we can do that later ;)

Hi MrBeep

I sent you an email this morning as you requested for me to test one of the new uncapped unshaped accounts for today, but I still haven't received any response. I'm mostly interested to see if I can use it to watch twitch.tv streams and compare it's performance to my current gold Leon account.

That's it - I'm also cancelling at the end of this month - genoeg van die k@k gehad ! Tired of inferior products.

You can cancel immediately and recover the debit order by telling your bank you proved you never got the service. This is what i did and i got my money back within a day. SAGEPAY is the vendor taking the money off your account so make sure you tell your bank to ENSURE that this specific debit order for the amount must be reversed.

Openweb are not a low unto themselves, if they do not provide the service DO NOT PAY THEM.

I'm with FNB - Can I not stop the debit order online ? I know that OW is supposed to cancel the debt order, but maybe I can intervene.

FNB online banking has a function to cancel debit orders, it does however attract as small service fee.

Yeah - I saw that - but the question is - am I allowed to do this without getting into legal issues with OW. I don't care if they cut the account immediately, I just don't wanna wait until the end of June to be rid of this account.

Yes you are.............They are not delivering the service and keep the proof of NNTP / Torrents and various other HTTP items not working. A debit order may be disputed using the following terms

Disputes about Debit Orders
There may be a number of reasons for customers to have disputes regarding debit orders on their accounts and customers must inform the bank that there is a dispute about a debit order. (The bank may require proof of identity).

Disputes should be raised when the third party:

has withdrawn an amount before the date specified in the instruction;
continues to collect a debit order that was cancelled or is subject to a stop payment instruction;
debits the account for an incorrect amount;
has collected a debit order which was not authorised or in a manner which was not authorized (e.g. split the collection amount or consolidate several debit orders); or
has collected a debit order that is not consistent with the customer’s instruction.

I used the last part to justify my actions as my instruction for the debit order was that as long as i receive my service monthly, i shall pay the debit order. Openweb failed to deliver the service for 6 months, therefore they broke the terms and conditions for the debit order to be valid and failed for 6 months to rectify the issue.

I have my own forum and once I am finally off their systems you'll see me take this further there.

Yeah I eventually gave up as well. Sent in cancellation yesterday, I was having problems every few days. Yesterday my account was being shaped to half line speed well after 5pm. I just finally had enough...
