OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

just email them and ask them 2 change it

u can also ask 2 activate password manager

they say they cant on the mtn business ...

there crap CP and account management and inactive here just make me kinda mad/irritated

only good thing is that i get the speed i pay for even more :)

so cant really complain on that side

just youtube that was/is crap

it worked fine,till i formatted my pc now its crap

and cant remember what i did to make it play right :P
tryed the ip block and the smart youtube tools thing (cant remember the full name atm)

still jumps up n down
 
You shouldn't have to use all kinds of tools and junk to stream youtube.

Openweb is probably one of the few ISPs who doesn't have a control panel that allow you to change your password ect by default. Not sure why so many people like them, but I like to have access to a control panel to manage my account, whether it is for usage statistics, changing password ect. In this day and age you shouldn't expect any less!

Nothing will come from it. MyBB has long since stopped being a consumerist forum and instead become a platform for marketing. It's not limited to Openweb either. A few years back RPM was defending the owner of @lantic in a thread about them stealing money from ex-customers.

The moment you accept money for advertisements, it causes a conflict of interest because you can then no longer run scathing articles on that company unless you want to risk losing on ad revenue.

@openweb is IS, @mynetwork is MTN.

I also assumed this until I got a free 30GB unshaped freedom capped account which had a @mynetwork, and this was on the IS network.

I then asked MrBEEP about this and he said it was something to do with different "routing/profiles" so who knows?
 
Everything is always about "routing profiles" with OpenWeb.
Bullsh*t baffles brains answer.
 
About that free 30GB unshaped freedom capped account, which I got for helping in the thread with guys complaining about poor speed which were actually telkom problems - this account was proper unshaped 24/7, and performed well.

Its good to know. I am glad there are actually Capped accounts that are truly unshaped and not network status based :) I believe in credit where its due, so kudos to them on these accounts.

I do wonder if those people defending and keeping their "trust"(as ISP's like to label it these days ) with Openweb on the account sharing matter when it got swept under the carpet, also got free Capped accounts like you got for assisting with support? I won't be surprised :whistle:

I doubt it coz they're complaining about uncapped so I blame Stockholm Syndrome on that one ;)
