Openweb fix your bloody support ticket system. Logged an "issue" around 5pm and so far have received 38 automated emails in a row. :/

Wow, page 300. I think after 84 pages of no Openweb responses to this thread, it should be closed.

Or maybe we should just keep it open, like a festering wound that will warn others to stay away from a sinking ship.

You should really use the 40 posts per page setting. :p

Not all of us believe in the carpet treatment.

To be fair my internet has been and for the most part still is performing well. I download a fair amount and have been mostly unaffected by this. The daytime speeds do affect me though but I come home late so it was never really an issue for me. The SO however does complain sometimes so I will be trying out a different ISP to see if it makes a difference.

You should find the ISP will rate limit you to 2Mbps. If you ran a speed test you should achieve a perfect 2Mbps whereas if you had a 2Mbps line with a 2Mbps account your speedtest will should be around 1.7Mbps.

With that said, when I had a 2Mbps account and a 4Mbps line I managed to get around 420KB/s download (speedtest of 3.49Mbps) but that was with a different ISP. Seems my ISP wasn't rate limiting my download speed to my account speed, instead my account ran at line speed :D

You get more on your account. Like Zewp who can get up to 2Mbps on his 1Mbps account because his line is 2Mbit.

Thanks, just wanted clarity on where in the process it happens.

I noticed that since November/December my account was running 2Mbps account was running at 4Mbps, but as soon as Owww gave me a new account, specifically one that was on the MTN network, I would get capped at 2Mbps, and then I would request a reroute to IS. Also confirmed it when support simply rerouted my original account from IS to MTN and back again.

Hi guys

Just to let you know. It's been a nightmare with Openweb so far legally just to get any information. They refuse to allow us access to anyone telephonically and refused to provide an address to deliver summons, they just say email ceo@openweb.co.za but no one ever replies on it.

If anyone knows the address let me know or i 'll instruct my legal team to go find it themselves at their own cost.
