Still a bit reluctant to jump ship. Recent developments are definitely o_O but I'd need to pay at least R100 more elsewhere to get something comparable and then be exposed to whatever system the new ISP uses. My account continues to deliver shenanigans or not...

Here's one for the pitchfork crowd though: The IS usage tracker no longer works for OW accounts.

You can try use the SAIX one, works for most @openweb accounts.

For me, the epitome of 'Stockholm syndrome' is the reluctance and fear of jumping ship.

Where have you been?
Using my working OW account for things other than reading the pages and page of complaints... :p

I'm curious though since you apparently know more...when was it de-activated? I know it was never supposedly accurate, but not the login fails completely now.

They had IS block access to the resource after threatening to do so, because we never bought the "inaccurate usage" lie, especially the fact that it was given as an answer when we queried seeing multiple active/concurrent logins from different locations. This was about 1.5 - 2 months ago.

We have since proven that the usage was correct, as well as on SAIX.

lol Stockholm S. No actually dead serious here.

My account runs *above* promised speeds for all protocols - except during business hours (never checked...assuming here) and then I'm to busy businessing anyway.

So "fear of jumping ship"...damn straight...god knows what the other ISP might do.

Gonna stay put and see where the CW thing goes price & feedback wise.

ah...pity I can't post PMs here. MrBeep explained the IS login thing to me in a PM 9 months back (beat you to the punch :p). Still trying to decide whether that checks out or not.

Do all the other ISP's IS based accounts only show 1 connection under the IS panel?

Well I'll also be trying crystal Web come July1. It works out cheaper and I don't download like a demon in any case. That said OW has been decent for me as well except youtube sometimes so if CW doesn't work out I'll simply move elsewhere.

Just placed an order with @lantic/VOX for a 50GB capped account and uncapped bolt-on. Going to try it out for a few months see how it works.

Why you leaving doc?

Price. Cannot afford R1000pm anymore for internet. Lantic has a uncapped addon so I can still do my downloads after hours but during the day it's capped. Makes the most sense for me and it's 3 times cheaper than what I'm paying now.

Just providing impartial feedback. My account has actually been working quite well over the past few days. Making me start to regret cancelling.

You may be lucky, since I received my cancellation reference, internet experience has totally gone to the dogs, mainly with streaming, even at 10:00pm, usual browsing has also become an Internet Explorer experience on Firefox or Chrome. Tomorrow will see hopefully a positive experience when I can chat on another thread.

Decided to write off the additional 1 month cancellation notice amount ad a bad experience, due to their cr@ppy terms (lived and learned...)

Now connected with my new ISP and happily flying along on uncapped/unshaped 4mb.

Goodbye OW, and buy yourself some additional bandwidth with my extra months debit... cheers

OW just decided to cancel our office account for some reason. :wtf:

Had to try and figure out why the hell the internet at the office was offline.

Have emailed and asked for the original cancellation request. I don't think they're going to find one because nobody cancelled it

EDIT: Issue resolved. They cancelled the wrong account (instead of canceling my personal account they cancelled my office account). They have refunded me already and re-activated the right account. A headache but glad it could be resolved quite quickly on a Sunday afternoon.
